Job Description

Taking direction from Managers and Team Leads the Production Technician will be expected to read and understand electrical schematics, assemble control panels and equipment of varying size and scope to meet client and product specifications, and conduct pre-testing quality control as well as testing of completed systems. The Technician will also assist with routine shop and equipment maintenance. A background in electrical/ control systems and PLC experience are a plus. This position may require infrequent travel for installation/service deployment.

Schedule: Monday, Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday; 6AM- 4:30PM OR Wednesday – Saturday; 6AM- 4:30PM

Accountabilities:

  • Assemble control panels and equipment to meet client and product specifications.
  • Use hand and power tools as required.
  • Read and understand electrical schematics.
  • Assist with routine shop and equipment maintenance.

General Expectations of the position:

  • Take direction from Managers and Team leads.
  • Follow training instructions from level Three Technician
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area.
  • Wear proper work attire and PPE.
  • Maintain a positive work attitude.
  • Accept constructive criticism.
  • Be on time at the start of the day and on time returning from breaks and work until the end of the day.
  • Give adequate notice for personal time off (PTO)
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent OR relevant experience
  • Minimum of 1 years in mechanical assembly/mechanical repair or associated field.
  • Satisfactory completion of additional background screening (if applicable).
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Preferred certifications (OSHA10, CPR)

Performance Metrics 

  • Attendance & Punctuality: Maintain 97% attendance rate with minimal tardiness. 
  • Teamwork & Communication: Receive positive feedback from team leaders or operators on responsiveness and attitude. 
  • Continuous Improvement Participation: Actively contribute at least one improvement idea per quarter. 
  • Safety Compliance: Zero safety violations or incidents; full adherence to PPE and safety protocol. 

Work Environment and Physical Demands 

  • This is a FLSA non-exempt position and is paid on an hourly basis, where project requirements and tight client deadlines may require workweeks over forty (40) hours (including weekends or holidays)   
  • This role is based on the production floor. This position requires standing for extended periods, working around machinery, and adherence to all safety and compliance standards.  
  • Mobility: Ability to move around the manufacturing plant, including walking, standing, and climbing stairs.  
  • Manual Dexterity: Occasional use of hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls.  
  • Lifting: Ability to lift and carry items up to fifty (50) pounds. All lifting should be done following OSHA standards.  
  • Visual and Auditory Requirements: Must be able to see and hear well enough to navigate the plant safely and communicate effectively with team members.
