Responsibilities

Position Summary:

The Machine Operator operates the CNC machine to cut and build rollers, sets up and operates a variety of machines. 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

  • Measuring and setting up machines to manufacture a high volume of parts
  • Performing machine shop and mold press operations to support Assembly
  • Detecting defective materials and questionable conditions and reports to the manager
  • Maintaining the work area and equipment in a clean, orderly condition
  • Following safety regulations
  • Performing preventative maintenance on machines
  • Employees are responsiblefor complyingwith all requirements ofDaifuku'sQMS policies and procedures.
  • Employees are to ensure sustainable process outputs that drive continuous improvement to provide leading industry performance and exceptional customer satisfaction. 
Qualifications

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Minimum of 1 year of related experience 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Requirements:

  • Ability to use a band saw, hand tools and calipers and perform milling, turning, drilling, taping, deburring, molding, and all bench operations
  • Ability to read blueprints
  • Basic math skills
  • Knowledge of standard and metric measurements
  • Knowledge of quality assurance and self-inspection techniques
  • Self-motivated and detail-oriented
  • Team orientation
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language

ADA Requirements:

  • Medium work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • Reaching: Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.
  • Standing: Remaining upright on the feet, particularly for sustained periods of time.
  • Walking: Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances or moving from one work site to another.
  • Pushing: Using upper extremities to press against something with steady force in order to thrust forward, downward or outward.
  • Pulling: Using upper extremities to exert force in order to draw, drag, haul or tug objects in a sustained motion.
  • Lifting: Raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position to-position. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires the substantial use of the upper extremities and back muscles.
  • Grasping: Applying pressure to an object with the fingers and palm.
  • Hearing: Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction, and having the ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and making fine discriminations in sound.
  • Repetitive motions: Making substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
  • Visual: The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication of parts at distances close to the eyes.

Job Conditions:

  • The worker is subject to: inside environmental conditions: Protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes.
  • The worker is subject to: hazards including a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals.
