Industrial / Plant Pipefitter (Local)

Job Title: Industrial / Plant Pipefitter
Company: Four Square Industrial Constructors, LLC
Location: Petersburg, VA (project-based assignments throughout the region)
Job Type: Full-Time

Position Summary

Four Square Industrial Constructors, LLC is seeking experienced Industrial/Plant Pipefitters to join our team. This position is responsible for the layout, assembly, installation, and maintenance of piping systems used in industrial process facilities and plant environments.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret blueprints, isometric drawings, and P&IDs to determine pipe routing and support requirements.
  • Measure, cut, thread, groove, bend, and weld carbon steel, stainless steel, and alloy pipe according to specifications.
  • Assemble and install pipe systems, supports, valves, and fittings for air, water, steam, oil, gas, or process piping systems.
  • Perform hydrostatic and pneumatic pressure testing following project and code requirements.
  • Fit and install pipe hangers, supports, and structural attachments to maintain alignment and system integrity.
  • Collaborate with welders, millwrights, and other craft personnel to complete system installations efficiently and safely.
  • Inspect work to verify compliance with specifications, codes, and quality requirements.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring all safety protocols and company policies are followed.

Skills and Abilities

  • Strong knowledge of industrial piping systems and fitting techniques.
  • Skilled in using pipefitting tools and equipment such as threading machines, beveling tools, and pipe stands.
  • Ability to read and interpret detailed piping drawings and isometric layouts.
  • Familiarity with plant safety practices, lockout/tagout procedures, and confined space entry.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting ability.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team under minimal supervision.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience as an industrial or plant pipefitter.
  • Proficiency in carbon and stainless-steel piping fabrication and installation.
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification preferred.
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screening and background check.
  • Ability to lift up 50 lbs. and work at heights, in confined spaces, or outdoors as required by the project.
  • Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to various nearby job sites as scheduled.
