Title : Network Engineer Location: Tampa, FL Job Type: Temporary Contract Schedule: Rotating shifts – Days, Evenings, Overnights, Weekends & Holidays On-Call: Emergency call-in availability required Job Summary

We are seeking a Network Engineer I to support the installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and maintenance of enterprise network infrastructure supporting 24/7 operations.

Working under the direction of the Senior Manager of Enterprise Network Services, the Network Engineer will work with switches, routers, firewalls, wireless controllers, access points, and other network appliances. This position will independently handle basic network projects and serve as an initial escalation point for complex issues that cannot be resolved by lower-tier support teams.

Key Responsibilities

Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot network hardware and software.

Design, build, and implement LAN, WLAN, and WAN infrastructure.

Configure and support switches, routers, firewalls, wireless controllers, and access points.

Monitor network and system performance and troubleshoot issues to maintain reliability.

Serve as an escalation point for unresolved network-related incidents.

Troubleshoot and resolve operating system and application-related issues affecting network operations.

Support backup and recovery processes to maintain business continuity.

Assist with evaluating and recommending hardware and software solutions.

Identify and help remediate network vulnerabilities and security issues.

Work collaboratively with technical teams and provide professional customer support.

Required Qualifications

Associate's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Business Administration, Mathematics, or a related field.

Minimum 2 years of IT experience providing advanced support for:

  • Switches
  • Routers
  • Firewalls
  • Wireless controllers
  • Access points
  • Network appliances
  • Network monitoring tools
  • CompTIA Network+ or Cisco CCNA certification.
  • Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered.
  • Valid Florida Driver License required.
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • Cisco CCIE certification.
Technical Skills

Candidates should have knowledge/experience with:

Work Environment & Schedule

This is a 24/7 operational environment, so candidates must be comfortable working rotating shifts, including days, evenings, overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays. Emergency call-in availability is also required.

The position may involve physical activities including standing, walking, lifting up to 60 lbs, bending, climbing, kneeling, crawling, and occasional use of power tools.
