Both roles involve sales commissions and require relevant licensing, but their markets and client bases differ significantly.

What is the highest commission for insurance agents?

The highest commissions for international insurance agents can vary widely depending on the product, company, and sales performance, with top earners sometimes earning commissions of 50% or more on certain policies. Typically, commissions range from 10% to 30%, but high-performing agents with specialized skills or high-value clients can achieve higher rates or bonuses. Overall, successful agents often supplement commissions with bonuses, overrides, or residual income streams.

The highest paying insurance agent roles are typically senior or specialized positions such as high-net-worth client advisors or those working in commercial or corporate insurance, where commissions and bonuses can significantly increase earnings. Commission-based insurance agents typically earn between 50% and 100% of the premiums they sell, with total income often ranging from $30,000 to over $100,000 annually depending on experience, sales skills, and the insurance products offered.
