Job description

Position Title
Periop & Procedural Business Informatics Analyst ISouthlake CampusPosition Summary / Career Interest:The Perioperative and Procedural Business Informatics Analyst I collaborates closely with perioperative and procedural teams, including surgeons, nurses, and administration, to analyze business workflows and requirements, identify areas for improvement, and implement data-driven strategies. Collects, organizes, and analyzes perioperative and procedural data and develops reports and insights to support decision-making and enhance the clinician experience and patient outcomes.Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions
  • "Collaborate with clinical teams to assess, design, and implement effective information systems and workflows that support perioperative and procedural services.
  • Assist in the development, configuration, and maintenance of information systems, applications, and databases related to perioperative and procedural services, ensuring optimal functionality and performance.
  • Participate in regular system audits, identifying areas of improvement and recommending solutions to enhance system performance and data integrity.
  • Provide support and troubleshooting for perioperative and procedural services, addressing system issues promptly and ensuring minimal disruption to clinical operations.
  • Assist in the analysis and interpretation of data, providing meaningful insights and recommendations for process improvements and strategic decision-making.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and best practices related to information systems and technology within perioperative and procedural services.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and guidelines, including HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability) and other data privacy and security requirements.
  • Coordinate and provide training to end-users, promoting optimal utilization of information systems and technology within the department.
  • Collaborate with vendors and IT teams to manage system upgrades, migrations, and integrations as needed.
  • Stay current on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in healthcare informatics, incorporating new insights into departmental processes and systems."
  • Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.

Required Education and Experience
  • High School Graduate
  • Bachelors Degree in healthcare informatics, data analytics, healthcare administration or related field. A combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Experience with healthcare information systems, electronic health records (EHR), and data visualization tools

Preferred Education and Experience
  • Master's Degree
  • Experience working in a perioperative or procedural setting

Required Licensure and Certification
  • Able to obtain certification or proficiency (with certification-level score) in assigned Epic application within six (6) months of employment. within 180 Days

Knowledge Requirements
  • Knowledge of perioperative and procedural workflows, and healthcare operations
  • Familiar with data analysis tools such as SQL, Excel, or statistical software
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and professional development in healthcare informatics.
