RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in Washington, DC that is seeking a Junior Data Engineer.
The Opportunity:
Ever-expanding technology like IoT, machine learning, and artificial intelligence means that there's more structured and unstructured data available today than ever before. As a data engineer, you know that organizing data can yield pivotal insights when it's gathered from disparate sources. We need an experienced data engineer like you to help our clients find answers in their data to impact important missions.
As a Junior Data Engineer, you'll implement data engineering activities on some of the most mission-driven projects in the industry. You'll deploy and develop pipelines and workflows that organize and make disparate data meaningful. Here, you'll work with and guide a multi-disciplinary team of analysts, data engineers, developers, and data consumers in a fast-paced, agile environment. You'll use your experience in analytical exploration and data examination while you manage the assessment, design, building, and maintenance of analytic solutions for your clients.
REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, or related technical field
* 5+ years of experience in data engineering, application development, data science, or related technical field
* 3+ years of experience designing, developing, operationalizing, and maintaining data applications for reporting and analytics at enterprise scale
* 3+ years of experience with Python, SQL, Scala, or R
* Experience creating solutions within a collaborative, cross-functional team environment
* Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information
* Valid US Passport
Nice If You Have:
* Experience with Palantir tools, such as Foundry
* Experience with distributed data/computing tools including Spark, Databricks, Hadoop, Hive, AWS EMR, or Kafka
* Experience with data visualization or geospatial tools, such as Tableau, Qlik, Power BI, or ArcGIS
* Experience with Agile engineering practices
* Experience working within a Combatant Command or other DoD organization
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
