This compensation structure encourages you to be highly efficient, prioritize projects with the greatest impact, and collaborate closely with clients or sales teams to understand their needs and timelines. While this can offer greater earning potential and flexibility, it also requires strong time management and self-motivation to consistently secure and deliver on new projects. Strong problem-solving skills, effective time management, and clear client communication are essential soft skills in a commission-based, project-driven environment. These skills ensure you can deliver high-quality, full-cycle software solutions while meeting client expectations and deadlines.

What is a Commission Full Stack Developer?

A Commission Full Stack Developer is a software engineer who works on both the front-end and back-end aspects of web or application development, and is compensated primarily through commissions or performance-based payments rather than a fixed salary. They may work as freelancers or contractors, often earning a percentage of sales, project milestones, or successful deployments. Compensation & Benefits

Competitive base salary plus commission — structured to reward territory growth and performance. We take care of our team with a full benefits package:

  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage.
  • Company-paid life, AD&D, and short- and long-term disability insurance.
  • 401(k) with a generous company match.
  • Generous PTO and paid holidays.
  • Tuition reimbursement
  • Paid parental leave.
  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP).
  • Voluntary benefit products.
What You'll Do

Own & Grow Your Territory

  • Develop and grow a territory of manufacturers, municipalities, OEMs, and industrial end-users across Northwest Ohio and surrounding markets.
  • Prospect and pursue new accounts through cold calling, site visits, referrals, and networking building a robust pipeline from the ground up.
  • Retain and expand existing customer relationships by staying engaged, understanding their operations, and proactively bringing solutions before problems arise.
  • Research the local market to identify emerging opportunities, competitive gaps, and new target accounts.

Sell the Full Division Portfolio

  • Represent MCE's rotating equipment capabilities across electric motors (new, surplus, and reconditioned), hydraulic pumps and motors, air compressors, vacuum systems, blowers, and associated repair and remanufacturing services.
  • Develop a strong understanding of each customer's equipment environment and operational needs recommending the right mix of product, service, and engineered solution for their situation.
  • Prepare and deliver competitive quotes and proposals; negotiate terms and close transactions on both standard and project business.
  • Work closely with MCE's technical service teams and application specialists to develop solutions for complex customer challenges.

Drive Pipeline & Accountability

  • Record all account activity, contacts, opportunities, and progress in CRM daily keeping your pipeline accurate and actionable.
  • Report on territory performance, market conditions, and competitive intelligence on a regular cadence.
  • Manage the full sales process from first contact through close and post-sale follow-up.
What We're Looking For

Must Have:

  • 3–5 years of outside sales experience in rotating equipment, industrial distribution, or a closely related technical field.
  • Working knowledge of rotating equipment electric motors, pumps, compressors, blowers, hydraulics, or similar sufficient to hold a credible technical conversation with plant engineers and maintenance teams.
  • Proven track record of hitting sales targets and growing territory through both new business development and account retention.
  • Self-motivated, organized, and capable of managing a territory independently with strong follow-through.
  • Valid driver's license; comfortable with regular customer site travel throughout Northwest Ohio and surrounding areas.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience selling electric motors, hydraulic pumps/motors, air compressors, or vacuum systems specifically.
  • Established customer relationships in manufacturing, municipal, or industrial markets in the Toledo/Northwest Ohio region.
  • Familiarity with repair, remanufacturing, or service contract selling — not just new equipment.
  • Background with CRM platforms and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Associate's or bachelor's degree in business, engineering technology, or a related field.
