Job description

Description:

The Folder Gluer Operator is responsible for the setup, operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of folder gluer equipment to ensure high-quality production in accordance with customer specifications and company standards. This role requires strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate the folder gluer based on production schedules and carton specifications.
  • Troubleshoot and perform preventative maintenance according to operational manuals and manufacturer guidelines.
  • Maintain inventory of equipment parts and supplies, anticipating needs to prevent downtime.
  • Set up and calibrate bar code and glue detection scanners.
  • Train and mentor helpers and packers, providing cross-training and backup support as needed.
  • Participate in quality checks and investigations to ensure products meet required specifications.
  • Rotate helpers between tasks to promote safety and reduce fatigue.
  • Read and interpret job tickets to ensure proper setup and efficient production runs.
  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and maintain quality standards for all finished goods.
  • Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe.
  • Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:Qualifications – Education, Experience, License/Certifications:
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the setup, adjustment, and operation of a folder gluer (SBL PG 100C experience preferred).
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Basic math skills and ability to use a conversion table for job specifications.
  • Availability to work weekends and overtime as needed.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Reliable, punctual, and committed to maintaining excellent attendance.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift, pull, and push up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stand and move around the machine for up to 12 hours per shift.
  • Continuous physical activity, including bending, reaching, and handling materials.
Compensation:

The base compensation range for this full-time position is $27.00 - $32.00 per hour plus benefits. Compensation ranges are determined by various factors, including role, experience, and location. The pay range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this position. Within the range, actual individual compensation is determined by various factors, including location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
