Job description

Under the guidance of the Supervisor, Facilities, the Maintenance Engineer performs inspections, repairs and preventative maintenance to the interior and exterior. Maintains a proactive and innovative approach to repairs, troubleshoots complex maintenance problems, and develops creative solutions. Champions and maintains the brand standards during the course of their daily duties
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Completes tasks as assigned including but are not limited to: installing office fixtures, assembling furniture, door and mortise lock repair, drop ceiling repair, general wall repairs such as painting and drywall installation. Installs wall paneling and chair rails. and general maintenance.
2. Performs and completes all plumbing repairs and preventative maintenance including, copper/drain lines, fixtures and hardware, caulking, floor drains, toilet drains, urinal drains, angle stops and shutoff valves.
3. Repairs and installs all types of flooring including ceramic, Luxury Vinyl Tile (LVT), epoxy, hardwood flooring, carpet and cove base.
4. Performs general repairs, service, preventative maintenance to plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC, mechanical, and all other guest and facilities work requests.
5. Documents work performance, material usage, estimated repair time, and status using a work order system. Collaborates with various trades, vendors, general contractors, and sub-contractors to complete projects or tasks. Requests necessary materials and supplies to complete all tasks, as needed.
6. Reviews service order requests and independently creates a plan to start and complete requests in a timely manner.
7. Cleans and maintains work areas, as well as keep an inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment, and reports specific needs to immediate leadership.
8. Performs other duties as assigned to support the e?cient operation of the department.
EDUCATIONAL, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • High School diploma or GED is required.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of General Maintenance or Engineering is required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSA)
  • Advanced knowledge and experience in mechanical, plumbing, painting, electrical, HVAC, and other general facility repairs.
  • Knowledge of technical, industry, regulatory, product, organizational, scientific, field specific, etc.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

REQUIRED LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS AND REGISTRATIONS
  • At the discretion of the San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission, you may be required to obtain and maintain a gaming license.
  • Select One of the Following: Authorized Driver: Role requires operation or driving of Tribe-owned vehicles or driving patron vehicles. A valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record as determined by the insurance carrier is required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ WORKING CONDITIONS - ENVIRONMENT

  • Primary work environment is in an outdoor setting.
  • Work requires travel to attend meetings, trade shows, and conferences.
  • Incumbents may be required to work evening, weekend and holiday shifts.

  • Strength sufficient to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects and/or move up to 40 pounds occasionally.
  • Sedentary work: may involve sitting. May operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.
  • Physical activities that apply to the essential functions of the position are balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.
  • Hearing sufficient to hear conversational levels in person, via videoconference and over the telephone.
  • Speech sufficient to make oneself heard and understood in person, in front of groups, in meetings, via videoconference and over the telephone.
  • Visual acuity that meets the requirements of the position: The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; expansive reading and visual inspection of employees, visitors or facility.
  • Mobility sufficient to safely move in an office environment, walk, stoop, bend and kneel, and enter, exit and operate a motor vehicle in the course of travel to promotional events, meetings, conferences, trade shows and San Manuel properties.
  • Endurance sufficient to sit, walk and stand for extended periods, and maintain efficiency throughout the entire work shift and during extended work hours.
  • The employee may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles including secondhand smoke.
