Position Summary

The Machine Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining roll forming equipment to ensure accurate and efficient production of components. This role supports high-quality manufacturing by following setup standards, monitoring product quality, and maintaining a safe and organized work environment.

Key ResponsibilitiesSetup & Operation
  • Use and maintain setup charts for all roll form tooling.

  • Perform tooling setup and line changeovers according to print specifications.

  • Operate roll form machines and make minor adjustments to maintain consistent production.

Material Handling & Packaging
  • Package materials according to order requirements.

  • Safely move and organize raw materials using a forklift (training provided if needed).

Quality Assurance
  • Read and interpret basic blueprints and sketches.

  • Monitor production for accuracy and report inconsistencies.

  • Make adjustments as needed and escalate significant issues to a supervisor.

Maintenance
  • Perform routine maintenance on roll form equipment and log all activities.

  • Adjust equipment to maintain dimensional tolerances.

Safety & Teamwork
  • Follow all safety protocols and PPE requirements.

  • Participate in training and support a safety-focused culture.

  • Cross-train and work collaboratively to support overall team productivity.

  • Follow daily 5S principles to maintain an efficient, organized work area.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • 2+ years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Forklift certification preferred but not required.

  • Experience in lean manufacturing or continuous improvement is a plus.

  • Manufacturing experience in window or door production is preferred.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to follow directions, manage time well, and handle multiple tasks.

  • Effective verbal communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.

  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.

  • Willingness to travel occasionally to support other RiteScreen locations.
