Job description

We are seeking an experienced, highly detailed, and driven Estimator for estimating operations for a fast-growing commercial landscape construction company in the North Texas market. The ideal candidate is analytical, proactive, organized, and thrives in a fast-paced construction environment. Experience in commercial landscape construction, site development, irrigation, hardscape, grading, and large-scale installation projects is highly preferred.

Experience with Aspire Landscape Software is a major plus. This role requires someone who can think strategically while also diving deep into the details of takeoffs, pricing, labor forecasting, subcontractor coordination, and bid management. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage the full estimating process for commercial landscape construction projects from conceptual budgeting through final bid submission.

Analyze project plans, specifications, addenda, geotechnical reports, and bid documents to develop accurate and competitive estimates. Prepare detailed quantity takeoffs using tools such as Bluebeam, On-Screen Takeoff (OST), and Aspire. Build and maintain accurate labor, equipment, subcontractor, and material pricing databases.

Collaborate closely with project managers, operations teams, executives, vendors, subcontractors, and clients to ensure alignment on project scope, budgets, and schedules. Solicit, review, and negotiate subcontractor and supplier proposals to ensure best value and project profitability. Identify risk factors, scope gaps, value engineering opportunities, and constructability concerns during the bidding process.

Develop and present comprehensive bid summaries and project handoff documentation for operations teams. Assist in project budgeting, forecasting, and preconstruction planning efforts. Mentor and lead estimating team members while implementing best practices, systems, and process improvements.

Maintain current knowledge of market pricing trends, labor conditions, construction methodologies, and material availability. Support business development initiatives by helping evaluate project opportunities and strategic pursuits. Preferred Qualifications 5+ years of estimating experience in commercial landscape construction, site development, or related construction fields.

Strong knowledge of: Landscape installation Irrigation systems Site grading Hardscape construction Erosion control Commercial construction processes Experience with: Aspire Landscape Software (highly preferred) Bluebeam On-Screen Takeoff (OST) Excel and construction estimating platforms Proven ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines simultaneously. Strong understanding of project cost control, subcontractor management, contracts, and project execution. Excellent organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.

Strong negotiation and communication abilities. Leadership mentality with the ability to mentor and develop team members. Self-motivated, solutions-oriented, and capable of working independently in a high-performance environment.
