Job description

Clinical Educator Practice & Quality – Inpatient Care:
Responsible for improving the knowledge, competency, and professional development of inpatient nursing staff while leading quality improvement initiatives that enhance patient outcomes. This role partners closely with nursing leadership, physicians, infection prevention, and quality teams to ensure evidence-based nursing practice, regulatory compliance, and continuous performance improvement throughout the hospital. Must have 3 years of nursing, clinical educator or nursing instructor experience is required.

***Masters degree in nursing may be substituted for 2 years of required experience

Education/Certification:

  • BSN required
  • MSN, APRN, CNL or Clinical Nurse specialist certification in the specialty preferred
  • Current or compact RN licensure for New Jersey
  • Valid BLS, ACLS, PALS (AHA - trainer preferred)
  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office and use of EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems

Scope of Role:

  • Developing and teaching educational programs for nurses
  • Coordinating orientation and onboarding for new nurses
  • Validating annual competencies and clinical skills
  • Creating evidence-based education and training materials
  • Mentoring bedside nurses and future nurse leaders
  • Supporting certification programs and continuing education
  • Reviewing quality metrics and identifying opportunities for improvement
  • Conducting chart audits and clinical observations
  • Investigating practice gaps and helping implement solutions
  • Collaborating with department leaders on patient safety initiatives
  • Leading committees, projects, and shared governance activities
