Agency Dept of Health and Human Services Division Broughton Hospital Job Classification Title Quality Assurance/Standards Supervisor (NS) Position Number 60044772 Grade NC19

The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is one of the largest, most complex agencies in the state, and has approximately 17,000 employees. It is responsible for ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of all North Carolinians, providing human service needs for special populations including individuals who are deaf, blind, developmentally disabled, and mentally ill, and helping poor North Carolinians achieve economic independence.

Description of Work

Broughton Hospital is currently recruiting for a Quality Assurance/Standards Supervisor – Performance Improvement Supervisor position to work in the hospital’s Quality Risk Management and Compliance (QRMC) department. The Performance Improvement Supervisor oversees the hospital’s Performance Improvement Program and is responsible for organizing, collecting, and aggregating data in a systematic manner consistent with accrediting body specifications to accomplish important hospital functions and ensure the effective utilization of hospital resources.

This position reports directly to the Chief of QRMC and supervises three (3) positions.

Salary and Employment Type

Recruitment Range: $67,122.00 - $117,465.00 Salary Range: $67,122.00 - $117,465.00

Candidate qualifications: The Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)/ Management Preferences are not required. Applicants who possess the following skills are preferred:

  • Three (3) years of experience working in performance improvement and/or quality assurance programming including collecting, analyzing, and/or aggregating data
  • Experience interpreting, applying, and/or implementing regulatory standards
  • Experience working in a psychiatric hospital or healthcare setting
  • Experience interpreting Joint Commission, CMS, and/or other regulatory standards
  • Previous supervisory experience

This Position Is Exempt And Is EXEMPT From Certain Provisions Of The State Human Resources Act (GS 126)

This Position Is Designated As Mandatory And Must Report Or Stay Over During Adverse Weather Events.

The normal working schedule for this position is Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm; however, flexibility us required for training purposes and to meet the overall needs of the hospital.

Broughton Hospital is one of the three regional psychiatric hospitals with statutory responsibility for operating as part of the Division of State Operated Healthcare Facilities (DSOHF). With the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services, we provide help and support to North Carolinians, and their families, experiencing mental illness. Our hospital serves the western thirty-seven (37) counties of North Carolina, as part of the state's system of care and treatment for persons with mental illness.
