Eskenazi Health serves as the public hospital division of the Health & Hospital Corporation of Marion County. Physicians provide a comprehensive range of primary and specialty care services at the 333-bed hospital and outpatient facilities both on and off of the Eskenazi Health downtown campus including at a network of Eskenazi Health Center sites located throughout Indianapolis.

Job Role Summary

The Audiovisual Technician is a member of the Event Services team and is responsible for assisting the Supervisor, Audiovisual Systems with audio and video needs occurring in Eskenazi Health facilities. This includes setup, operation and tier one support of audio and video equipment. This position serves as the primary support for maintaining a quality TV signal and facilitating repairs and changes throughout the hospital and connected buildings, including the patient health education and entertainment TV system.   

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

    Sets up and implements audio and video services for meetings, events, concerts, etc. in Eskenazi Health facilities or hosted virtually
    Serves as auxiliary support contact for videoconferencing platforms.
    Monitors technical functionality and provides basic troubleshooting support and repairs for Eskenazi Health audiovisual equipment and digital signage; escalates issues to team supervisor. 
    Manages inventory and department record keeping, including surplus tasks, of various technology equipment supported by Event Services
    Acts as primary point of contact for the technical components of the satellite and television systems, including cable/satellite, the Eskenazi Health Television Network, Eskenazi Health TV Live and the patient education and entertainment TV system used on the Eskenazi Health downtown campus. Works with the Eskenazi Health Facilities team to proactively address all TV signal issues and respond to any outages, upgrades or installations promptly.
    Assists in meeting with outside vendors as needed on maintenance related to audio and video technologies and the Eskenazi Health Television Network and affiliated programs.
    Assists with meetings and events as needed.
    Provides support in ensuring meetings and events held on the Eskenazi Health campus are executed with excellence and precision and that all guests leave with a positive impression of the organization.

    Assists Manager, Communications Engagement Strategy & Operations in ensuring meetings, events and performances held on the Eskenazi Health campus are executed with excellence and precision and that all guests leave with a positive impression of the organization
 

Job Requirements

    Associate degree (or equivalent) minimum is required; consideration will be given for additional experience in the industry and/or documentation of industry certifications in lieu of a degree.
    Minimum of two years' experience in audiovisual support, audio engineering, IT, telecommunications or related discipline. Experience with large organizations, heath care, government or higher education preferred.
    Valid Indiana driver's license that meets Eskenazi Health's driving policy requirements.
 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

    Ability to troubleshoot hardware and software issues with audiovisual equipment
    Experience supporting users of varying technological comfort and ability to clearly communicate instructions to users while maintaining professionalism
    Comfortable assisting users over the phone, via text message or remotely via videoconferencing platforms
    Ability to quickly respond to calls and/or emails from users, including late-notice or urgent technical support
    Familiarity with industry-standard educational opportunities or completion of AV or IT certifications (such as AVIXA, CompTIA, etc.)
    Detail oriented and strong time management skills
    Strong customer service focus
    Advanced computer skills required, including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint; able to conduct Internet and other kinds of research 
    Ability to perform routine and special duties/projects as assigned
    Able to use appropriate verbal and written communication
