Job description

Are you ready to get in on the ground floor of Amazon's long-term initiative to design, launch and maintain a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites to provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world? Join our Finance team and own the financial foundation for one of Amazon's largest investments.
As a Finance Manager, you'll serve as the financial controller for Leo's customer terminal supply chain costs, ensuring accurate cost tracking, forecasting, and financial reporting across first mile, middle mile, last mile, and reverse logistics. Ahead of each country launch, your focus will be on building that foundation, establishing the financial processes and mechanisms needed to move customer terminals from contract manufacturers to end customers across Leo's global fulfillment operations. Beyond the build, you'll partner with business teams to drive strategic decisions on how to optimize fulfillment speed, cost efficiency, and customer experience while balancing accounting and tax constraints. If you thrive on building from the ground up, navigating ambiguity, and driving financial rigor in a fast-moving launch environment, this role offers the rare opportunity to shape the financial infrastructure of a global program from day one.
Key job responsibilities
- Own end-to-end financial controllership for Leo's customer terminal supply chain costs, including cost tracking and financial reporting across first mile, middle mile, last mile, and reverse logistics.
- Partner with other Amazon Finance and cross-functional supply chain teams to onboard Leo to existing logistics processes or establish new financial mechanisms ahead of each country launch.
- Own finance requirements for global fulfillment of customer terminals and track execution of requirements with partner teams.
- Build and maintain financial models to forecast customer terminal transportation costs across all fulfillment arcs, providing inputs to planning cycles and enabling Accounting, Tax and Transfer Pricing teams to make informed decisions on materiality thresholds and cost attribution.
- Lead Finance's evaluation of trade-offs between tool automation and manual processes in defect automation gap reviews, balancing speed to launch with long-term scalability and controllership.
- Partner with business teams to drive strategic trade-off analysis across fulfillment speed, cost efficiency, customer experience, and accounting and tax constraints.
A day in the life
Your day might start by connecting with other Finance teams in Amazon to understand how they currently capture costs for a specific logistics activity and work through whether Leo should onboard to that same process or build something new. From there, you'll review transportation cost actuals across Leo's fulfillment arcs, digging into variances and flagging anything that needs attention before month-end close. You'll then join a meeting with a business partner who needs your help modeling the financial impact of different warranty offerings to customers, translating complex trade-offs into a clear recommendation. Later, you might join a user acceptance testing review to validate that financial processes are working as expected in the system, or meet with Transfer Pricing to walk through forecast inputs and discuss materiality thresholds for intercompany transactions. No two days look exactly the same, but all are filled with plenty of opportunities to make a lasting impact on a program that is just getting started.
About the team
The Leo Finance team is building the financial infrastructure for one of Amazon's most ambitious programs. In this role, you'll be the Finance lead for Leo's customer terminal fulfillment operations, serving as the primary Finance partner for the Leo Inventory and Fulfillment Technology (LIFT) team and working closely with Devices Finance, Ops Finance, Accounting, and Tax to ensure Leo's supply chain is financially ready to scale globally.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science)
- 5+ years of multiple finance and accounting roles experience
- Experience building and managing financial models for business forecasting and problem solving
- Experience working cross functionally across several teams
- Export Control Requirement: Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 6+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits) experience
- Experience with data analysis tools such as Advanced Excel, SQL, Tableau, Python
- 5+ years of supply chain experience
- Experience delivering results for large, cross-functional initiatives/projects
