Call Your Mother Commissary Supervisor

At Call Your Mother we believe that great food is made even better with amazing service and having fun together. CYM is a neighborhood bagel shop and deli with locations in the DMV area, Colorado, Chicago, and Philadelphia on the way! We're looking for new team members with positive attitudes and an eagerness to learn who are as excited about good food & GOOD VIBES.

The Commissary Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all aspects of commissary production during their shifts. You'll be a leader for your team. This is your production area and your team. You'll lead by example and hold all pastry team members accountable for their performance and product output, and do so through our Values ("VIBES"). You will work with other supervisors and managers to create an efficient work environment.

As the Commissary Supervisor, you are responsible for supporting Call Your Mother's high operational standards by continuing to hold yourself and your team members to the provided checklists, recipe specs, and other standardized tools. You must be willing to work weekends and holidays.

As a CYM team member, you'll make an impact by:

  • Leading all aspects of commissary production
  • Helping build the company's expertise in food quality and safety standards by ensuring all team members are following safety, sanitation and cleanliness policies. Ensures compliance with all government regulations.
  • Creating a safe and fun working environment for all employees
  • Being a voice of calm and confidence in high pressure situations and demonstrating leadership through adept problem solving
  • Managing and monitoring quality to minimize waste and always be looking for ways to improve our products
  • Managing production schedule to support shop needs and timelines
  • Sharing ideas, opinions and suggestions to improve product quality and kitchen efficiency
  • Maintaining effective relationships with all commissary managers and team members
  • With other manager(s) and supervisor(s), assisting with managing team shifts
  • Other duties, as assigned

You'll be a great addition to the CYM team if you:

  • Have 2+ years experience as a baker or prep cook in a food production space
  • Have 1+ year experience as manager in a food production space
  • Have time management skills to deliver quality products on schedule
  • Are flexible โ€“ proactively manage your schedule to support the needs of the business, which can include weekends, holidays, evenings, and potential overnight shifts
  • Have outstanding leadership skills and ability to motivate a diverse team in a fast-paced environment
  • Have the ability to attract, develop, and retain high performing team members
  • Have a positive attitude and passion for food required!
  • Have a hands on management style and are willing to lead by example
  • Have excellent written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills
