Description:

  The Portfolio Manager / Senior Project Manager leads complex, cross-functional product development initiatives and provides oversight across the Lumitex project portfolio.

Working across Engineering, Quality/Regulatory, Operations, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Sales/Marketing and other functions, this role drives projects from concept through commercialization and production.

This is an ownership-focused role responsible for project direction, accountability, risk management, priorities and successful delivery of project commitments.

Requirements:

Key Responsibilities

Portfolio & Project Leadership

· Develop and maintain project and portfolio roadmaps, including priorities, milestones, 

resources, risks and key business commitments.

· Lead and manage multiple product development and strategic projects from concept

through commercialization and production.

· Establish and manage project scope, schedules, budgets, resources, deliverables and

success criteria.

· Maintain appropriate project plans, milestone schedules, risk/issue tracking and project

documentation.

· Take ownership of project commitments and drive cross-functional accountability 

for timely completion of deliverables.

· Proactively identify and address project risks, delays, resource constraints and

changing requirements, including development of mitigation or recovery plans.

· Partner with leadership to evaluate project priorities, resource needs, dependencies and

competing business demands.

· Provide clear and timely communication to leadership regarding project status, risks,

decisions and required actions.

Product Development & Cross-Functional Execution

·  Lead the product development process from initial concept through design,

validation, commercialization and production readiness.

· Lead cross-functional teams involving Engineering, Quality/Regulatory, Operations,

Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Sales/Marketing and other functions as appropriate.

· Ensure customer, product and technical requirements are clearly defined and

incorporated into project plans.

· Coordinate project activities involving design reviews, verification and validation,

design controls, change management and document control.

· Partner with Engineering, Operations and Supply Chain to address manufacturability,

sourcing, quality, cost and production requirements.

· Establish clear responsibilities and accountability across project teams and drive

decisions, actions and issue resolutions.

· Support compliance with Lumitex Quality Management System requirements and

applicable regulated-product development processes.

Business, Customer & Organizational Support

· Communicate with customers, suppliers and external partners as needed to support

product development and project execution.

· Partner with Sales and Marketing to understand customer needs, technical

requirements and product-launch expectations.

· Support project-related cost, pricing, timing and commercial considerations as

appropriate.

· Mentor and provide guidance to project team members, engineers, technicians and 

co-op students as assigned.

· Identify opportunities to improve project management processes, tools and 

cross-functional execution.

· Perform other duties as necessary to support company and department objectives.

Qualifications

· Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, Business or a related 

technical field required; Engineering degree preferred.

· Minimum of 7 years of progressive project, program or portfolio management

 experience.

· Demonstrated experience owning and leading complex, cross-functional product

development projects from concept through commercialization and/or production.

· Experience managing multiple projects, schedules, budgets, resources, risks and

competing priorities.

· Experience in an engineering, product development or manufacturing environment.

· Medical devices, medical technology, lighting, electronics, electromechanical or 

other regulated-product experience preferred.

· Experience working within a Quality Management System or regulated development

environment preferred.

· PMP certification preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

· Strong project and portfolio leadership skills with demonstrated ownership and

accountability.

· Strong understanding of project management principles, tools and methodologies.

· Ability to manage competing priorities, identify risks and drive practical solutions.

· Strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills.

· Ability to influence and lead cross-functional teams without direct reporting authority.

· Strong written, verbal, interpersonal and presentation skills with the ability to

communicate effectively with technical teams, customers and senior leadership.

· Proficiency with Microsoft Office and commonly used project-management tools, OnePlan knowledge a plus.

· Familiarity with engineering design tools such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD is helpful

but not required.

Working conditions

This is a first-shift professional position primarily performed in an office, engineering and manufacturing environment.

Travel of up to approximately 15–20% may be required to support customer meetings, suppliers, business development activities, conferences or project needs.

Physical requirements

No special physical requirements beyond those normally associated with an office, engineering and light manufacturing environment.
