This department typically works Monday-Friday between the hours of 7-5. Once trained, this position may be able to work hybrid.

Summary:
The Commercial Support Specialist (CSS) is responsible for the timely and proper release of collateral securing loans within the Commercial Portfolio. This position is responsible for verifying the appropriateness of a collateral release request-either requested or prompted by reporting-through review of approvals and cross collateralization within the lending relationship and verification with the loan officer. The CSS is responsible for the preparation, monitoring and recording (if applicable) of all collateral release documentation. This position will also support the department by cross-training and completing tasks relative to commercial loan file review, UCC-1 searching and filing, loan package processing and any other tasks as needed or assigned.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Reviewing weekly reporting on Commercial Loans that have paid off and determining the associated collateral that needs to be released and entering this information into the Smartsheet pipeline.
  • Processing all partial release requests submitted to the Partial Release Smartsheet Pipeline
  • Management and ultimate responsibility for the accuracy and completion of items on the Paid Loans and Partial Release pipeline.
  • Notifying the Lender and Administrative Assistant (AA) of the paid loan or release status and following up timely on responses, documentation or other issues.
  • Determining whether the collateral in question can be released by verifying its attachment to any open loans and whether there is proper approval. Any discrepancies will be communicated to the Lender, AA or Commercial Support Team Lead.
  • The preparation and monitoring of all release documentation for various collateral types including but not limited to real estate, business assets, vehicles, life insurance, investment accounts, deposit accounts and stocks/bonds.
  • The management of all closed loan documentation.
  • Responsible for e-recording releases and any other ad hoc documentation that needs to be recorded. This includes monitoring the E-recording email inbox daily and submitting documents to be recorded through Simplifile, following up with obtaining recorded documents and uploading them to the documentation housing software.
  • Managing electronic liens through the Bank's third-party vendor, DDI, including processing all new e-lien notifications and completing the release of e-liens through DDI. This position is also responsible for managing the paper title portfolio using Smartsheet.
  • Monitoring the CL Doc Exception pipeline and placing, reviewing, and clearing documentation exceptions in Abrigo.

Other Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assisting the File Review team by reviewing commercial loan documentation according to procedure and documenting any errors.
  • Processing Commercial Loan Packages.
  • Processing UCC search requests.

  • Adept at time management to meet strict deadlines, manage pipelines and respond to urgent requests.
  • Ability to think critically and express conclusions verbally and in writing.

  • Exceptional organizational skills along with the ability to multi-task and manage changing priorities.
  • Must exhibit bank's Essentials of Excellence and maintain a positive attitude in a high volume and high stress environment.
  • Must be a quick study for new tasks, procedures, and software/technology.
  • Decision making will be firmly in compliance with applicable department procedure and bank policy.
  • Identify and escalate errors or deficiencies that pose risk to the bank's collateral position, or otherwise.
  • Propose new procedures, tools and controls when appropriate to maximize efficiency and reduce costs while maintaining compliance with bank policies and regulatory requirements
  • Must demonstrate a willingness to learn and the desire to develop new skills to improve overall work performance and contribute to the success of department function and initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma
  • At least 2 years of banking experience
  • Demonstrated expertise in organizing and analyzing data.
  • Knowledge of banking software and Microsoft Office with emphasis on Abrigo, Smartsheet and Nupoint.
