A well-established insurance agency serving businesses across the Midwest is seeking a Commercial Lines Marketing & Placement Specialist to join their team in Delafield, WI. In this role, you'll serve as the key connection between producers and carrier partnersdriving the placement of new and renewal business while ensuring accuracy, competitiveness, and exceptional service throughout the process.
Job Description
The Commercial Lines Marketing & Placement Specialist plays a critical role in placing new and renewal commercial insurance business with carrier partners. Acting as the primary liaison between producers and insurance carriers, this position supports coverage negotiations, evaluates carrier terms and conditions, prepares comprehensive proposals, and oversees the placement and binding process to ensure accurate and timely execution.
Market Placement & Carrier Coordination
  • Assist in the development and placement of commercial insurance programs for clients as assigned by agency management.
  • Gather and analyze information and documentation from internal and external sources to prepare comprehensive market submissions.
  • Complete applications and establish new client records within the agency management system.
  • Pre-qualify accounts with carrier partners based on underwriting appetite, coverage requirements, and market suitability.
  • Submit applications to insurance carriers through email correspondence and online rating platforms.
  • Provide technical insurance support and market expertise to producers in support of client needs and agency growth objectives.
  • Coordinate communication between underwriters, producers, and clients to address underwriting questions and obtain additional required information.
  • Monitor submission activity and proactively follow up with carriers to secure quotations and competitive pricing.
  • Review carrier quotations for accuracy, completeness, and consistency with submitted information.
  • Analyze and compare multiple carrier proposals to identify coverage differences, potential gaps, and overall client value.
  • Negotiate pricing, coverage terms, and conditions with carriers to achieve optimal outcomes for clients and prospects.
  • Coordinate binding of coverage and finalize all placement documentation.
Operational Support & Administration
  • Maintain consistent, professional, and timely communication with clients, carriers, producers, and internal staff through verbal and written correspondence.
  • Update and maintain client records within the agency management system following binding, and transition accounts to the account management team for ongoing servicing.
  • Prioritize workload and manage workflow efficiently to meet deadlines and service expectations.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of client information, communications, and marketing activity within agency systems.
  • Support producers with prospect and client service needs as requested.
  • Collaborate closely with account management teams to ensure smooth handoff of new business and coordination of remarketing activities for existing accounts.
  • Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned by agency management.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of experience in commercial lines insurance in an agency or carrier environment.
  • Strong knowledge of rating procedures, coverages, and industry operations.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
  • Proficient with standard office software.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Active Wisconsin Property & Casualty License.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Associate's or Bachelor's Degree.
