Job description

NOW Courier is seeking a friendly, customer-focused Independent Contractor to service a dedicated delivery route operating throughout the Fort Wayne and South Bend areas. This opportunity includes a consistent Monday, Wednesday, and Friday route, with OPTIONAL additional delivery work available Tuesday and Thursday, AND before the dedicated route Monda, Wednesday, & Friday.

This is a great opportunity for a driver looking for consistent route work with the ability to take on additional deliveries throughout the week.

Your Mission
  • Deliver with Clockwork Precision: Ensure that cargo is picked up and delivered to our valued customers on time, maintaining NOW Courier's reputation for reliability and punctuality.
  • Route Mastery: Utilize GPS or mapping software to plan and follow efficient routes, ensuring timely deliveries and optimal fuel usage.
  • Exceptional Customer Service: Greet customers with professionalism and warmth, handling questions or issues with empathy.
  • Problem Solving Skills: Think quickly and adapt when faced with challenges such as traffic delays or address changes to ensure smooth and efficient deliveries.
Route Details & Schedule
  • Route Details & Schedule
    • Primary Route Schedule: Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
    • Start/End Time: Approximately 10:30 AM to 3:00 PM.
    • Compensation: $160 per route / approximately $480 per week.
    • Required Vehicle: SUV or larger.
    • Route Mileage: Approximately 120 miles per route.
    • Daily Stops: Approximately 10.
    • Geographical Area: Warsaw, Goshen, Elkhart, South Bend, Mishawaka, and Granger.
    • Sorting: Minimal.
Optional Additional Work
  • Looking to earn more? Additional delivery work is available but is not required as part of this dedicated route. Drivers may choose to pick up additional work based on their availability. Additional work is compensated separately on a per-piece basis.

Opportunities may include:

  • South Bend Area
    • Monday, Wednesday & Friday: Optional work approximately 7:00 AM–11:00 AM covering Bremen, Plymouth, Bourbon, and Etna Green BEFORE the dedicated route.
    • Tuesday & Thursday: Optional work approximately 7:00 AM–3:00 PM or until completion covering the South Bend service area.
  • Fort Wayne Area
    • Monday, Wednesday & Friday: Optional work approximately 7:00 AM–11:00 AM covering Columbia City BEFORE the dedicated route.
    • Tuesday & Thursday: Optional work approximately 7:00 AM–3:00 PM or until completion covering Fort Wayne service area, including Busco, Garrett, and Huntertown.
  • There is no requirement to accept the additional work. The primary commitment for this opportunity is the Monday, Wednesday, and Friday FWLC4 dedicated route.

Requirements

Vehicle Requirements:
  • Candidates must possess an SUV or larger vehicle.
  • The vehicle must be 2014 model year or newer. This ensures the vehicle meets modern safety and reliability standards and provides adequate space for cargo.

To maintain our industry leading fleet of professional drivers, you must meet the following:

  • Age: Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Vehicle: Own a vehicle that can pass a multi point inspection and is suitable for delivery.
  • Smartphone: Possess a smartphone capable of running our driver app.
  • Licensing & Insurance: Hold a valid driver's license and commercial insurance coverage with a minimum of $300,000 combined single limit liability.
  • Pre Employment Screening: You must successfully pass a comprehensive pre employment process before beginning work, which includes:
    • Driving History Review (past 36 months)
    • Criminal Background Check
    • Substance Abuse (Drug) Screening.
