What is commercial graphics installation?

Commercial graphics installation is the process of professionally applying large-format graphics, such as vinyl wraps, wall murals, window graphics, and signage, to commercial spaces and vehicles. Installers use specialized tools and techniques to ensure that graphics are applied smoothly, securely, and in alignment with the client's branding and design specifications. This service helps businesses enhance their visibility, communicate messages, and create visually appealing environments. Installers often work with a variety of surfaces, including glass, walls, floors, and vehicles, requiring attention to detail and knowledge of different materials. The job may also include site surveys, surface preparation, and removal of old graphics.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a commercial graphics installer?

To thrive as a Commercial Graphics Installer, you need proficiency in measuring, cutting, and applying various graphic materials, along with a keen eye for detail and often a high school diploma or equivalent. Familiarity with tools such as vinyl plotters, heat guns, squeegees, and sometimes certification from manufacturers or industry associations is valuable. Strong communication, problem-solving, and time management skills help installers coordinate with clients and teams while adapting to different work environments. These skills ensure precise, durable installations that meet client expectations and uphold safety and quality standards.

What are some common challenges faced by commercial graphics installers and how can they be overcome?

Commercial graphics installers often encounter challenges such as working with uneven surfaces, adhering to tight project deadlines, and ensuring precise alignment of large-scale graphics. Overcoming these challenges typically involves thorough site assessments, careful surface preparation, and using specialized tools like squeegees and heat guns for smooth application. Effective communication with clients and team members is also essential to clarify expectations and quickly address any issues that arise during installation.

Job description

The Opportunity

We are hiring a Window Film Installer to join our field operations team based out of our McKinney, TX headquarters, installing 3M security, solar, decorative, and graphic films on commercial, school, and government projects across Epic's national footprint. This is hands-on, precision work where quality is everything.

This is a travel role. Work will regularly take you beyond the DFW area, including overnight and out-of-state travel to project sites in Texas, Colorado, Tennessee, Oklahoma, and other markets as Epic grows. Travel and lodging are provided in line with company policy. If you enjoy seeing new places and taking pride in the work you leave behind, you will fit right in.

We are open to both experienced installers and motivated people we can train. If you already install film to a high standard, we want your craftsmanship. If you are hands-on, detail-oriented, and eager to learn a skilled trade, we will teach you the Epic way of doing it right.

Every window you finish is protecting real people. If you take pride in clean, flawless work and want that work to matter, this role is for you.

What You Will Do

  • Prepare, cut, and install 3M window films — security, solar control, decorative, privacy, and graphics — on commercial, school, and government job sites
  • Thoroughly clean and prep glass and surfaces to ensure a flawless, bubble- and contaminant-free finish
  • Measure and cut film accurately to each opening, following Epic's installation standards and 3M specifications
  • Use hand tools, squeegees, and application solutions properly, including attention-mounted and anchored security film systems
  • Load, transport, and set up equipment and materials safely at each job site
  • Follow all site safety requirements, including ladder, lift, and personal protective equipment protocols
  • Inspect completed work for quality and correct any imperfections before leaving the site
  • Represent Epic professionally on customer sites — schools, offices, and government facilities — keeping work areas clean and respectful
  • Travel to project sites beyond the DFW area, including overnight and out-of-state stays, and represent Epic professionally on the road
  • Work under the direction of the Field Project Manager and coordinate with the broader install team

What We Are Looking For

  • A strong work ethic, reliability, and genuine pride in doing precise, high-quality work
  • Comfort working with your hands and attention to fine detail
  • Ability to follow instructions, safety procedures, and Epic's installation standards
  • Willingness and ability to travel regularly, including overnight and out-of-state trips of several days at a time to project sites across Epic's markets
  • A valid driver's license and clean driving record; ability to report to the McKinney facility and travel as scheduled
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, evenings, or weekends based on project and travel needs
  • Must be able to pass a background check, as many projects are on school and government property

Experienced Candidates — A Plus

  • Prior window film, tint, glazing, wrap, or graphics installation experience
  • Familiarity with 3M films or comparable architectural film products
  • Experience with security film and anchoring systems, or large-format graphics
  • 3M or manufacturer installation certifications

New to the Trade? That's Okay

We are willing to train the right person. If you have hands-on aptitude — from construction, automotive, painting, general labor, or any detail-focused trade — and you want to build a skilled career, we will provide the training and certification to get you there.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, bend, kneel, reach, and work overhead for extended periods
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and handle large rolls of film and glass panels
  • Ability to climb and work safely from ladders and lifts at height
  • Comfortable working in varied indoor and occasional outdoor conditions
  • Steady hands and good close-up vision for precise application work

What Epic Offers

  • Competitive pay based on experience
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance
  • Paid time off and holidays
  • Paid training and 3M certification opportunities
  • Travel and lodging covered by Epic for out-of-town projects per company policy
  • Steady, year-round work with a fast-growing national company
  • Work that matters — every install you complete protects a building full of real people
  • A nationally recognized brand backed by 3M, trusted by the White House, and built on precision and pride

Benefits:

  • Dental insurance
  • Health insurance
  • On-the-job training
  • Paid time off
  • Paid training
  • Tools provided
  • Vision insurance

Company Description

Epic is a national, award-winning, 100% woman-owned commercial solutions provider headquartered in McKinney, Texas, with active operations in Colorado, Tennessee, and Oklahoma — and expanding. We are a 3M Platinum Elite National Dealer and have been named 3M National Dealer of the Year multiple years running — the highest recognition 3M awards in the window film industry. We are also a trusted service provider for the Presidential White House of the United States.

Our work spans security and architectural window film, solar control, decorative and privacy films, large-format graphics, and window coverings. Epic was founded on a single mission: protect the people behind the glass. Every installation we complete has to be done right — the film in a school vestibule or a government building is what stands between people and broken glass. That standard is the heart of this role. Installations done right...every time.
