Job Summary
We are seeking a Pennsylvania and New Jersey licensed attorney with experience in commercial creditors’ rights, commercial foreclosure, and bankruptcy litigation to join our practice. This role focuses on commercial and institutional lending matters, including enforcement of loan documents, workouts, foreclosure alternatives, and bankruptcy proceedings.
The ideal candidate has hands-on experience representing lenders or creditors in commercial transactions, is comfortable managing matters independently, and regularly appears in court.
Key Responsibilities
- Represent lenders and creditors in commercial foreclosure, bankruptcy (Chapters 7, 11, and 13), and related creditors’ rights litigation in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
- Handle matters from pre-litigation through resolution, including motion practice, hearings, mediations, and trials.
- Advise clients on commercial loan enforcement, foreclosure alternatives, loan workouts, and negotiated resolutions.
- Draft and review pleadings, motions, affidavits, discovery, and settlement documents related to commercial lending and enforcement matters.
- Appear in state and federal courts as required.
- Communicate with clients regarding litigation strategy, case status, and risk exposure.
- Ensure compliance with applicable state and federal laws governing commercial lending, foreclosure, and bankruptcy.
Required Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
- Active admission and good standing in both Pennsylvania and New Jersey (required).
- 2–3+ years of experience in commercial creditors’ rights, commercial foreclosure, bankruptcy, or related commercial litigation.
- Working knowledge of PA and NJ commercial foreclosure procedures and bankruptcy practice.
- Strong legal research, writing, negotiation, and advocacy skills.
- Ability to manage multiple commercial matters in a deadline-driven environment.
- Willingness to travel for court appearances as needed.
Preferred Experience
- Experience representing institutional or commercial lenders, servicers, or financial institutions.
- SBA loan experience (including SBA-guaranteed loan enforcement, servicing, liquidation, or workouts).
- Contested commercial foreclosure litigation.
- Bankruptcy court appearances in commercial matters.
