Position Overview
At Foundation Building Materials (FBM), our CDL Drivers are essential-delivering materials safely, efficiently, and with pride. Enjoy local routes, daily home time, competitive pay, and a supportive culture built on safety and respect.
Responsibilities and Qualifications
Key Responsibilities
  1. Vehicle Operation
  • Safely operates company vehicles, including up to 26' trucks, in compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness
  • Deliver materials to customer project sites on time, providing excellent customer service
  • Additional training such as Forklift, and other specified equipment may be required
  • Basic understanding and knowledge of the operation of a forklift and other equipment

  1. Delivery & Customer Service
  • Unload materials at delivery locations and verify deliveries against packing slips
  • Ensure deliveries are handled professionally and courteously, always representing the company positively
  • The ability to unload, protect, move and stage materials as specified by customer directive
  • Basic understanding and knowledge of building materials

  1. Safety
  • Adheres to all driving regulations based on state and/or jurisdiction policies such as wearing a seatbelt
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized warehouse environment
  • Follow all safety protocols and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requirements to maintain a safe working environment
  • Use proper lifting techniques
  • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment, safety shoes and clothing

  1. Communication
  • Must attend and participate in all required meetings in relation to material delivery and overall company

  1. Training Requirements
  • Attend and participate in all required company training programs

  1. Physical Job Requirements
  • Frequent use of hands and arms for equipment operation, grasping and manipulation
  • Frequent driving or sitting in a truck, forklift or other similar equipment for multiple hours a day
  • Occasionally lift and/or move 80 lbs. and climb ladders carrying up to 50 lbs
  • Pushing and pulling carts loaded carts over various distances and surfaces. Some functions may be performed as a team
  • Must be able to learn how to operate a forklift and other company vehicles and must understand and be able to use miscellaneous tools and equipment, including but not limited to: dollies, flat carts, and rock carts
  • Additional physical requirements may be needed as duties are assigned

  • Possess valid Class A or Class B CDL
