General Statement of Job
Under limited supervision, performs various professional governmental accounting duties for the Accounting Division of the Finance Department. Work involves maintaining the accounting integrity of all funds for the City; handling the responsibility of balancing and verifying general ledger accounts as well as maintaining subsidiary schedules.
Minimum Training and Experience
Education:
Bachelor's degree in accounting
Experience:
Six (6) years of professional accounting experience
Certifications:
  • Valid driver's license

The City retains the right to determine equivalencies.
Any certifications not possessed at hire, must be obtained before the employee is removed from probation in order to continue employment with the City.
Physical Requirements
Must be physically able to operate a variety of automated office machines, which includes a typewriter, calculator, computer, copier, facsimile, mobile radio, etc. Must be able to exert up to ten pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for periods of time. Must be able to lift and/or carry weights of five to ten pounds.
