Job description

 
Purpose:   

The position is under the direct supervision of the Director of Operations and performs various duties to ensure safety and security of guests and associates in the resort. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  1. Performs day-to-day gatekeeper duties as needed. Such duties are greets guests upon arrival, property patrolling, logs calls & gate activities and dispatches calls to other departments
  2. Understands that the security gate is the beginning of our guest’s arrival experience and must provide professional and friendly reception for all guests and associates.
  3. Helps transport guest to their room.
  4. Helps guest with their luggage. 
  5. Responds to emergency situations promptly, evaluates the nature & severity of the situation and responds and notifies appropriate management team members
  6. Writes detailed incident reports regarding: incidents of theft, injury, property damage and/or incident relating to an infraction of laws, company policies or breaches of security
  7. Assists with investigations as directed
  8. Oversees key control distribution & collection for associates and contractors
  9. Patrols property for any safety and fire hazards
  10. Personally practices and maintains the highest standards of professionalism & customer service when interacting with fellow associates, management, owners and guests.
  11. Understands that the position will entail confidential matters related to Human Resources and Managing Director that will require strict confidentiality 
  12. Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Rooms, Human Resources and Director of Operations. 

Minimum Qualifications:

Education & Experience

            High School diploma or GED required 

            One to two years of experience in Security

            Resort security experience preferred 

            Knowledge of local, state, and federal laws pertaining to the activities of Security personnel (including OSHA, Hazardous Communications, and Blood borne Pathogen Exposure Control)

            CPR Certified

            Must have and active Guard Card Holder (BSIS)

 Skills & Ability

            Excellent communication skills, both written & oral 

            Excellent customer service skills 

 

Working Conditions: 

Varied working conditions; indoors and outdoors across the property 

Outdoor weather conditions may include; extreme heat and/or cold

Varying working schedule to include evenings, holidays and extended hours as business dictates

Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
