Job description

Position Description
Represent Texas Tech University both on and off campus to prospective students, parents, staff, and faculty of colleges and universities to attract quality applicants and achieve enrollment goals. Coordinate and contribute to the success of various visit schedules for colleges and universities in the assigned area. Plan assigned recruiting events and programs. Counsel prospective applicants on the admissions process and opportunities at the university.
Major/Essential Functions
Recruitment Support - 50%
  • Engage in on-campus recruiting events, including but not limited to: Academic Information Sessions, prospective student VIPs, Connect Tech, TTU Preview, Select Tech, Spring Break Visit Days, Thanksgiving Week Visit Days, Summer Showcase, Saturday Visit Days, Transfer Visit Days, etc. in coordination with the Recruitment Program Manager.
  • Reports to Recruitment Program Manager, who leads day-to-day activities.
  • Support off-campus recruiting events, including Scholar's Receptions, Red Raider Roadshows, college fairs, and off-campus recruiting events in coordination with the Recruitment Program Manager.
  • Coordinate with the Recruitment Program Manager on event planning, staffing, and follow up.
  • Coordinate with Recruitment Program Manager on Dean's Student Ambassadors training and management to support college recruitment efforts.
Prospective Student Retention Toward Enrollment -30%
  • Lead prospective student communication and follow-up activities such as newly admitted student mailings.
  • Assist with recruitment activities to convert admitted students to enrolled students.
  • Attend Red Raider Orientation as schedule permits to facilitate evolution from prospective to enrolled student.
  • Assist with enrollment and withdrawal data management
Scholarship Coordination -20%
  • Coordinate CoMC scholarship-related activities internal to the College and between the College and other campus entities as appropriate
  • Coordinate with the College Scholarship Committee.
  • Oversee the evaluation and awarding of CoMC scholarships in accordance with university and college policies to recruit new students and retain current students.
  • Liaise with department chairs, area coordinators, and administrative assistants regarding department- and area-specific scholarships.
  • Collaborate with college leadership to define and refine criteria for new scholarship opportunities.
  • Coordinate communication to scholarship applicants and recipients with the Undergraduate Affairs Coordinator for Advising & Recruiting.
  • Coordinate with college staff in development, events, and marketing on annual college scholarship luncheon and other recognitions of scholarship donors.
  • Coordinate with university scholarship and financial aid offices as appropriate.
  • Supply scholarship-related data and timely reports to college leadership as needed or requested.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Associate Dean for Undergraduate Affairs for the operations of the college's strategic plan and mission.

Preferred Qualifications
Valid driver license, experience in recruitment or admissions desirable, public relations experience.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree plus one year related experience; OR a combination of education and/or related experience to equal five years.

Pay Statement
Compensation is commensurate upon the qualifications of the individual selected and budgetary guidelines of the hiring department, as well as the institutional pay plan.
