Position Summary
The High School Math Teacher is responsible for planning, delivering, and assessing engaging mathematics instruction for students in grades 9 12. The teacher fosters a positive learning environment that promotes academic achievement, critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and college and career readiness. Instruction may include courses such as Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II, Pre-Calculus, Statistics, and other mathematics courses aligned with Michigan state standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Instruction and Curriculum
  • Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with Michigan Academic Standards and district curriculum.
  • Deliver effective instruction using a variety of teaching strategies to meet diverse student learning needs.
  • Differentiate instruction to support students of varying abilities, learning styles, and backgrounds.
  • Integrate technology and real-world applications into mathematics instruction.
  • Utilize formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly.
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and performance.

Classroom Management
  • Establish and maintain a safe, respectful, and productive classroom environment.
