The Role

Mathnasium of Greenwich and Mathnasium of Stamford are looking for a part-time Center Director to run the day-to-day of our math learning center during after-school hours. From the first call with a prospective family, all the way through to a confident, thriving student on the Mathnasium Method, you'll drive enrollment, lead our team, and run the center day to day, during our after-school hours.

If you're someone who can turn a hesitant parent's phone call into an enrolled family, who keeps a team of instructors on schedule without missing a beat, and who takes ownership without needing to be told what to do next, we want to talk to you.

What You'll Own

  • Enrollment & growth — Field inbound leads, run follow-ups, and convert inquiries into enrolled families on our monthly tuition program. You're the first impression of the center and the driving force behind its growth.
  • Family relationships — Own all parent/family correspondence and customer service, building the trust that keeps families enrolled long-term and generates referrals.
  • Team leadership — Manage and schedule our instructor team (often teachers, college students, and top high schoolers), keeping shifts covered and the floor running smoothly during our peak after-school hours.
  • Center operations — Keep the center organized, on-schedule, and ready for students every day, solving problems as they come up.
  • Student assessments — Administer student assessments, identify learning gaps, and build customized learning plans for each student.
  • Initiative & growth — Spot opportunities to boost enrollment and retention, and act on them without waiting to be asked.

What We're Looking For

  • Experience combining sales or client-facing work with team/operations management. Prior experience in education, tutoring, or franchise retail environments is a plus, but not required
  • No math teaching background needed. Full training on the Mathnasium Method is provided
  • A track record of following through on leads and commitments
  • Comfort managing people and schedules, calmly and organized under pressure
  • Genuine interest in kids' education and confidence-building
  • Self-starter energy: you see what needs doing and do it
  • Currently enrolled in undergraduate studies or higher, or have completed a Bachelor's degree (high school students will not be considered)
  • Must be able to pass a math literacy test, complete a background check, and provide proof of work authorization

Compensation & Growth

  • Pay: $23–$26/hr, based on experience
  • Performance bonus tied to enrollment growth and family retention
  • Benefits: Paid time off (PTO) and flexible hours
  • Perks: Discounted Mathnasium tutoring for your own children, plus Mathnasium Method certification and ongoing professional development
  • Growth path: Potential to move into a full-time Center Director role as the center grows
