Position Summary
The Math Teacher plans and delivers standards-based mathematics instruction that promotes problem-solving, mathematical reasoning, and conceptual understanding, while fostering student engagement and academic growth.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with appropriate mathematics endorsement.
  • Knowledge of effective instructional strategies, assessment practices, and classroom management.
  • Ability to analyze student data and adjust instruction to support student learning.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with students, families, and colleagues.
  • Regular and reliable attendance.

Essential Functions, Physical Demands, and Work Environment
  • Plan and deliver standards-based mathematics instruction aligned with district curriculum.
  • Develop lesson plans, instructional materials, and assessments to support student learning and engagement.
  • Utilize a variety of instructional strategies, including whole group, small group, and individualized instruction.
  • Implement accommodations and instructional supports in accordance with student IEPs and 504 Plans.

  • Demonstrate the ability to work effectively with students from diverse cultural, economic, and ability backgrounds.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the building administrator consistent with the effective operation of the school.

Physical Demands and Work Environment
  • Work is performed primarily in a classroom and school environment with regular interaction with students and staff.
  • The position requires the ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the classroom and school building for extended periods while supervising and instructing students.
  • The employee may occasionally bend, stoop, reach, and lift classroom materials or equipment up to approximately 20 pounds.
  • The position requires the ability to operate instructional technology and visually and verbally monitor student behavior and classroom activities.
