Position Details

Target Hourly/Salary Rate: Commensurate with qualifications

Appointment Full-time Equivalency: 1.0

FLSA Status: Exempt

Bargaining Unit Announcement: This is NOT a bargaining unit position with American Federation of State, County & Municipal Employees (AFSCME).

Contingent Upon Funding: Not Applicable

Standard Work Schedule: Standard (M-F, 8-5)

If Not a Standard Work Schedule: 

Job Duties and Responsibilities: Teach four courses per semester and two in the summer
ENGL 1110G, Rhetoric and Composition
ENGL 2210G, Technical and Professional Writing
ENGL 2221G, Writing in the Humanities and Social Sciences

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience: 
Required:
Masters degree or higher in Writing, English, or a related field
Three or more years' experience teaching collegiate writing/composition
Ability to teach ENGL 1110G, Composition as well as ENGL 2210G, Technical and Professional Communication and/or ENGL 2221G, Writing in the Humanities and Social Sciences
Significant experience with online teaching

Working Conditions and Physical Effort

Environment: Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.

Physical Effort: No or very limited physical effort required.
