Overview

In this clinical physician role, under supervision of the CMO, you will have several clinical responsibilities, along with some specified administrative responsibilities. While providing day-to-day clinical care to residents residing in facilities as well as home bound patients, you will practice and role-model ethical and evidence-based decision-making to promote the vision and mission of the company to other practitioners and staff.

Responsibilities
  • Provides high-quality complex and geriatric care to residents and patients across settings in partnership with non-physician practitioner and other interprofessional team members to an identified panel of patients across various assisted living and skilled nursing facilities
  • Keeps high engagement with facility leadership teams, nurse practitioners/physician assistants, patients, and families
  • Provides collaborating physician duties for on average of 5 but up to 15 nurse practitioners and physician assistants (based on state regulatory parameters) to support them in their clinical roles
  • Based on state and regional regulatory frameworks, audits up to 10% of practitioner medical orders and/ or documentation for each provider monthly
  • If needed, assumes medical directorships for skilled and/or other senior living facilities
  • Helps identify new growth opportunities with skilled facilities and/or other senior living facilities in the market/region
  • Participates in company frontline /backup call processes for timely response to acute changes of condition to prevent avoidable hospital transfers, or to meet other clinical needs
  • Keeps a high focus on quality outcomes including but not limited to care path compliance and productivity, prevention of avoidable transfers and decrease in polypharmacy and costs of care
  • Attends required trainings, and meetings as mandated by the CMO or other leaders to assure best care delivery by the company
Qualifications

Education/Experience:

  • Graduate from an accredited school of medicine and is a Doctor of Medicine
  • Two or more years of administrative leadership experience in healthcare
  • Clinical medical experience of seven years or more preferred

Certifications/License/Other Special Requirements

  • Board certification in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine or Geriatrics; qualification in Geriatrics preferred
  • Practicing physician currently licensed under the provisions of the State Board of Medicine
  • Active unrestricted licensure to practice in state of employment
  • Current Drug Enforcement Administration registration

Qualifications:

  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients and other healthcare support staff
  • Ability to treat patients and their families with compassion and understanding 
  • Ability to work for long periods of time with patients who need special attention
  • Ability to display patience with children and adult patients who fear medical treatment
  • Excellent computer and electronic record-keeping skills
  • Excellent organizational and management skills
  • Excellent decision-making, problem-solving and cognitive abilities
