Position Overview

Job Title: Equipment & Tool Engineer
Location: Everett, WA
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 1st Shift (6:30 AM – 3:00 PM)
Duration: 6-Month Full-Time Consultant Role
Pay Rate Starting at : $57.40/hour

In this role, you’ll be at the intersection of design, manufacturing, and production—developing the tools and equipment that make aircraft manufacturing possible. Your work will directly influence safety, efficiency, and product quality.


What You’ll Do (Day-to-Day Responsibilities)
  • Develop equipment and tooling concepts, designs, and specifications to support aerospace product builds
  • Partner closely with production teams, mechanics, tool makers, and safety personnel on the manufacturing floor
  • Create and revise engineering drawings and 3D models to support production plans
  • Support tool fabrication and production use through tool liaison activities
  • Lead and participate in design reviews and gather engineering requirements
  • Generate purchase requests and specifications for new tooling and equipment
  • Ensure designs meet safety, reliability, ergonomic, and regulatory standards
  • Develop inspection procedures, maintenance plans, and user training materials
  • Manage project schedules and budgets for tooling and equipment delivery

Work Environment: This is a hands-on role requiring time on the production floor, including:

  • Standing/walking for extended periods (up to 8 hours)
  • Climbing ladders or working at heights
  • Working in tight spaces and wearing required PPE

What You BringRequired Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, or related field
  • 3+ years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a passion for process improvement and efficiency
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in a production or manufacturing environment
  • Background in project management
  • Knowledge of pressure vessel design and applicable standards (ASME Section VIII, NBIC, ANSI)
  • Familiarity with piping codes (ASME B31.1 / B31.3)
  • Experience with non-destructive testing (NDT) methods and welding processes
  • Strong understanding of materials, thermodynamics, and fluid mechanics
  • Experience designing autoclaves, closures, or composite curing systems
  • Proficiency in 3D modeling and GD&T
  • 5+ years of hands-on engineering experience in production environments

Pay Details: $57.40 per hour
