 COCU Utility Operator   

REPORT TO: Terminal Manager             HOURS: 6am - 4pm Mon. - Thur., OT as required



JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for maintaining housekeeping standards for IPL contracted area of responsibility.


JOB ANALYSIS: Utility operator is responsible for all operations required to maintain contractual obligations for housekeeping services to Chemours. This includes, but is not limited to:

Shoveling all spills which occur due to mechanical failures in our area of responsibility.

Operating equipment when required.

Show up to work on time and as scheduled.

Document problems with loader and other equipment on the PM sheet to initiate work orders.

Completes, in their entirety, both the daily PM and the Shift Report.

Operate skid steer loader and other hand tools required to keep Ore and coke belt areas clean and clear of material.

Assists in day-to-day operations in other work areas as directed by the Shift Crew Leader.

Performs preventative maintenance as required by written PM system.

Communicates effectively with Chemours on a daily basis concerning plant feed operations through consistent monitoring of the Reaction radio channel.

Follows Plant Feed Operations procedures, insuring compliance at all times. 

Responsible for following both Chemours and IPL safety standards in all IPL work areas

Assist IPL and Chemours in developing safer and more efficient procedures.

Attend weekly shift safety meetings and DBH organizational meetings when scheduled. 

Assist supervision in investigating all accidents and near misses. 

Knowledge of OSHA and EPA guidelines as they apply to plant feed operations.

Fill in positions when required such as Vacuum Truck, Plant Feed Loader Operator, and Trackmobile Operator. (See these Job Descriptions).

Requirements

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS/TRAINING:

A. TRAINING: 1. On the Job training on front-end loader, Trackmobile, bobcat, forklift, and street sweeper operating techniques and how to recognize mechanical and electrical problems.

2. Knowledge of industrial and materials handling operations.

3. Knowledge of general safety.

4. Demonstrates an ability to communicate effectively.

5. Complete all IPL required training video's along

with specific job procedures which can be found in Delisle 

OMS manual.

B. PERSONAL: 1. Mentally and physically capable of functioning in the material handling field.

2. Ability to retain emotional stability in stressful situations.

3.  Able to work beyond regular hours if need indicates.
