As an Assistant Branch Manager, you'll be a trusted leader and key support to the Branch Manager, helping ensure smooth daily operations while delivering exceptional customer service. You'll combine your banking expertise, leadership skills, and customer-focused mindset to support branch performance, develop staff, and strengthen customer relationships while upholding NESB's policies, procedures, and community-driven values.

What You Will Do:


In this role, you'll balance operational excellence with relationship building. A typical day may include:

  • Supporting and overseeing branch operations, including assuming leadership responsibilities in the absence of the Branch Manager.
  • Opening, closing, and settling the branch while ensuring compliance with all Bank policies and procedures.
  • Balancing cash drawers and assisting with ATM, coin machine, and night depository settlement.
  • Conducting monthly audits in accordance with NESB's Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Building strong customer relationships by assisting with account openings and recommending appropriate Bank products and services.
  • Identifying customer needs and generating appropriate internal and external referrals.
  • Originating consumer and mortgage loan applications with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Assisting with employee scheduling, performance evaluations, and disciplinary reviews as needed.
  • Reviewing and maintaining reports to support branch operations and performance.
  • Participating in Saturday rotations.


To Thrive in This Role, You Will Need:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required;  Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • A minimum of two (2) years of branch or banking experience interacting with customers. Prior experience as a Senior Teller or Senior Relationship Banker is ideal.
  • Active NMLS registration, or the ability to obtain it within a designated timeframe.
  • Current Notary Public designation, or the ability to obtain it.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills to effectively support customers and employees.
  • A collaborative leadership style with a commitment to service excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.


The pay range for this position is based on the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe to pay for this position at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more than the posted range and the range may be modified in the future. An individual's pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, sales or revenue-based metrics, business or organizational needs, affordability and market pay.
Physical Demands: This position is an office-based position in terms of physical demand. Employees are expected to be able to operate their fingers and hands to perform functions such as typing, writing, and filing. Employees must also be able to move throughout the office with ease while also being able to sit for extended periods of time. Employees must be able to see and hear in an office setting that does include much noise going on around one's workspace. While this job is mainly clerical, there are instances in which employees must be able to transport up to 20 pounds.
