Riverside Refreshments, Inc.
Position: Route Delivery Helper Driver In-Training Augusta Georgia
Status: Full-time, Position .
Department: Beverage Delivery Reports to: Territory Manager
Riverside Refreshments Inc. is a family-owned company that has been in business for over ninety years offering beverage dales, vending, office coffee service, and cafeteria services in two states throughout the Central Savannah River Area.
The position Is Monday Friday. Responsible to assist driver and be a driver in training in the delivery vehicle to a location and delivers products on an established route to gas stations, convenience stores, grocery stores, dollar stores and drug stores, etc. (approximately 10 15 stops per day). The Route Driver is the face of the company and must always project a professional and positive image for the company while maintaining and building excellent client and customer relationships.
General Responsibilities
  • Deliver and merchandise products, including loading and unloading products efficiently and carefully to multiple stores each day.
  • Perform product rotation to ensure freshness at location based on FIFO (first in, first out).
  • Ability to push, pull pallet jacks and hand truck to move products to and from vehicle.
  • Provide client and customer satisfaction by establishing working relationships with primary contact at each account.
  • Inform regular clients and customers of new products or services, listens to, and resolve service complaints.
  • Accountable for all receipt of goods, invoices, delivery tickets, cash received or collected and product.
  • Accountable for ensuring your company vehicle is maintained.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Physical Demands:
  • Ability to reach, bend, stoop, push and/or pull, and lift products with weight of approximately 20 -50 pounds repeatedly throughout the workday.
  • Ability to climb stairs and carry product as needed based on client location.
Working Conditions:
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be flexible to work in a controlled temperature environment; however, may be subject to extreme heat/wintry weather during support of outside duties.
  • Available to work Monday Friday and holidays as business dictates.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Valid Non-CDL Class C (unless otherwise indicated by state) driver's license and safe driving record.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test, background check, and MVR (Motor Vehicle Record check).
  • DOT Medical Card, provided by company doctor.
  • Must be able to utilize computers/iPads and GPS technology.
  • Ability to operate delivery truck performing the basic functions, including driving forward, backwards, and maneuvering vehicles in tight spaces.
  • Able to work independently, responsible for route, work unsupervised 98% of the workday.
  • Must be a team player, working with other teammates and management.
  • Must have excellent attendance, being dependable, responsible, and fulfilling the job obligations.
Experience & Knowledge
  • High School diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • Knowledge of Department of Transportation regulations including how driver logs and roadside inspections and all other pertinent responsibilities outlined by DOT.
  • Preferred 1-2 years experience in a route delivery driver position, or a minimum of 1 year of related experience in delivery.
