Job description

Holyoke Medical Center is an independent community hospital that has served the healthcare needs of the Pioneer Valley for over 125 years. We continue to grow and address the needs of our community through quality and patient centered care.
The Coding Analyst audits health records for appropriate diagnostic and procedural codes on individual patient health information for data retrieval, analysis, and claims processing. Coding Analysts may be assigned to outpatient, specialty, ancillary or inpatient coding responsibilities. The Coding Analyst collects appropriate, timely, and accurate health information about services provided including demographic data, appropriate length of stay, third-party payer and continued stay reviews, and other related data concerning patients. The successful candidate will be required to collect data in compliance with appropriate laws, regulations, standards, and policies, supporting the hospital mission of ensuring the highest quality of patient care in an economically sound and efficient manner.
REQUIREMENTS: CCS or CPC with Minimum two years hospital coding experience preferred (if not certified).
If less than 2 years on the job experience, should have one of the following credentials: RHIT (Registered Health Information Technician), RHIA (Registered Health Information Administrator), CCA (Certified Coding Associate) or CPC-A (Certified Professional Coder).
