Hourly Pay Range:

$19.89 - $28.84 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

A Brief Overview:
As a Billing Reimbursement Specialist you will be responsible for managing the hospital's billing processes and reimbursement procedures. This role involves working closely with insurance companies, patients, and internal departments to ensure accurate and timely reimbursement for medical services rendered.
What you will do:

  • Prepare and submit insurance claims for all patient services in accordance with insurance guidelines and hospital policies.
  • Verify accuracy of patient demographic and insurance information.
  • Review and resolve billing errors and discrepancies.
  • Monitor the status of claims and follow up on outstanding or denied claims.
  • Verify patients' insurance coverage and eligibility prior to services.
  • Accurately post payments received from insurance companies and patients. Process refunds when necessary.
  • Reconcile payments with billed amounts and identify discrepancies.
  • Analyze and resolve claim denials by identifying the root causes. Generate and maintain reports related to billing, reimbursement, and collections.
  • Collaborate with clinical and coding teams to address coding-related denials.
  • Appeal denied claims as needed, adhering to appeal timelines.
  • Assist patients with billing inquiries and provide clear explanations of their bills.
  • Stay current with healthcare regulations, coding changes, and insurance policies.

  • Associates Degree Health Administration Required
  • Proven experience in medical billing and reimbursement, preferably in a hospital setting.
