Position Summary:
The Coding Specialist will abstract clinical data from inpatient records to facilitate reimbursement and data collection activities. Abstracts pertinent information to assign the ICD-10-CM and HCPCS codes in compliance with all regulatory mandates and outpatient reporting requirements and accurately enters this information in the hospital's abstracting software. Responsible for promoting teamwork with all members of the healthcare team. Performs duties in a manner consistent with St. Luke's mission and values.
