Moontower Design & Build is an Austin-based design-build company bringing architecture, construction, and interior design together under one roof. Their team creates custom homes and renovations through thoughtful design, quality craftsmanship, clear communication, and a highly detailed process.


Moontower Design & Build is looking for an experienced Production Manager to oversee active residential construction projects and lead the production team.

This role is responsible for keeping projects on schedule and on budget while maintaining strong standards for field execution, team performance, subcontractor relationships, and client communication. The Production Manager will work closely with the CEO, Project Managers, Superintendents, Design team, and Estimator to keep projects moving efficiently from pre-construction through completion.


Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee active project schedules, budgets, production forecasts, and overall construction progress
  • Manage production capacity and resources to minimize delays and keep projects moving efficiently
  • Meet regularly with Project Managers to review schedules, budgets, purchase orders, project priorities, and client satisfaction
  • Lead production team meetings and maintain clear accountability for follow-up items
  • Coach, support, and develop Project Managers and field team members
  • Coordinate jobsite reviews at key construction milestones to maintain quality standards
  • Ensure clients receive consistent updates regarding schedule, budget, quality, and project progress
  • Build and maintain strong subcontractor and vendor relationships
  • Support Project Managers with escalated client, subcontractor, or vendor issues
  • Coordinate new project starts with estimating, design, purchasing, project management, and accounting
  • Maintain accurate production schedules and workflows in JobTread
  • Communicate production capacity, lead times, and project needs across leadership, sales, design, and estimating
  • Maintain and improve production SOPs, checklists, workflows, and quality-control processes
  • Support warranty coordination and long-term homeowner relationships as needed
  • Assist with onboarding and hiring production team members when needed

Qualifications

  • Proven experience managing residential construction projects or production operations
  • Strong knowledge of construction scheduling, budgeting, subcontractor coordination, and field quality
  • Experience leading Project Managers, Superintendents, or field teams
  • Strong residential construction and building-science knowledge
  • Comfortable communicating directly with homeowners regarding schedules, budgets, expectations, and project challenges
  • Strong leadership, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple active projects and priorities simultaneously
  • Professional, fair, and accountable approach to subcontractor and vendor relationships
  • Experience with construction management software; JobTread experience is a plus
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace and comfort using QuickBooks Online or similar systems
  • Familiarity with Austin-area permitting, codes, and ordinances preferred
