Job description

What We Are Looking For
The Engineering Design group is seeking a Measurement Engineer to support interstate natural gas pipeline projects. This individual will be a technical resource within the Engineering Design group and must possess the ability to collaborate with a wide variety of people in various departments with tact, courtesy and professionalism. This individual will also represent the Company with customers, suppliers, licensees, third party engineering firms, outside consultants, and industry associations
What You Will Do
The selected candidate must possess skills used in the development and execution of measurement projects, including preliminary scoping and equipment sizing and selection. Responsibilities will include selection and sizing of meters, control valves, relief valves, and piping components, as well as selection of gas sampling equipment, odorization equipment, gas heaters, filter separators. This individual should also be familiar with pressure drop calculations and should understand the design and implementation of overpressure protection. The successful candidate will be capable of communicating this information using well-developed written and verbal skills. Additionally, the successful candidate will support Operations personnel with troubleshooting issues at measurement and regulation facilities.
What You Need
  • BS in Engineering required
  • Minimum 5 years of gas industry experience preferred
  • Working knowledge of applicable industry codes and standards (49CFR Part 192, ASME B31.8, AGA, API, GPA, etc.)
  • Ability to read and interpret process flow diagrams, P&IDs, mechanical piping drawings, and equipment fabrication drawings
  • Ability to create schematics and bills of material in support of projects
  • Ability to evaluate the design, installation, and operation of gas measurement facilities to ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards and self-confidence to recommend any changes that might optimize efficient, safe, and economical operation while maintaining code compliance
  • Ability to create and maintain technical specifications, engineering standards, construction standards, and O&M standards to ensure code compliance and safety, and to increase efficiency
  • Ability to prepare and coordinate engineering reports, calculations, studies, and presentations
  • Should possess a working knowledge of the selection, sizing, and operation of orifice meters, turbine meters, ultrasonic meters, positive displacement meters and Coriolis meters and their associate equipment
  • Proficiency with Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Bluebeam
  • Must be able to plan, schedule, and coordinate detailed phases of engineering work
  • Must be able to perform job functions with minimal guidance or supervision and to accomplish goals in a fast-paced environment
  • Must possess well-developed analytical and problem solving skills to address complex technical matters
  • Must be accountable for completing quality tasks on schedule and within budget while complying with applicable codes and standards
  • Must be able and willing to take direction from managers and senior leaders
  • Must maintain regular and dependable attendance
  • Must be a United States citizen
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and a driving record satisfactory to the Company
  • Must be able and willing to travel (approximately 25%)
