Job description

Primary Purpose

This position will work closely with and serve as a liaison between the Permitting Manager, E&C team, and EPC contractor to gather and review all technical documents required for permitting and agency authorizations. It will interface with federal and state agencies (e.g., FERC, USCG, PHMSA) and mentor junior engineers in these activities.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Resolves design and construction issues during project implementation, ensuring smooth execution and timely problem-solving.
  • Integrate sustainable design principles to reduce environmental impact and enhance energy and resource efficiency.
  • Conducts structural analyses and feasibility studies to optimize designs for cost-effectiveness, constructability, and sustainability.
  • Collaborate with regulatory agencies to secure necessary permits and ensure compliance with all applicable codes and regulations.
  • Provides technical guidance and oversight throughout design and construction phases, including site inspections and structural assessments.
  • Implements quality assurance protocols to ensure adherence to design specifications, industry standards, and safety regulations.
  • Maintains detailed project documentation and develops innovative solutions to improve outcomes while staying current with industry advancements.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Education

  • Typically requires a 4 year degree in a relevant field, or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.

Experience

  • Typically requires 8 years of related experience.

  • Requires 5 years of regulatory FERC/PHMSA experience and/or equivalent LNG Projects experience.

Preferred Licenses and Certifications

Fundamentals of Engineer in Training (EIT) Certification is preferred.

  • Regulatory Compliance - Ensuring an organization's adherence to laws, regulations, guidelines and specifications relevant to its business processes.
  • Vendor Management - Overseeing relationships with key vendors and partner organizations that deliver products, services, and support to the business. Negotiating and managing contracts with key service providers to ensure service levels are set appropriately and met on an ongoing basis.
  • Technical Reporting - A form of subjective and formal report that presents the objectives, processes, and results of technical work.
  • Standards Management - Sets standards correctly and efficiently and adheres to them.
