About This Role

At Meli's Munchkins Bilingual Learning Center, we're dedicated to providing a nurturing and safe family childcare home where children can thrive in a Spanish/English learning environment.

We're looking for a caring and reliable individual who loves working with children to join our team as a Child Care Assistant.

In this role, you'll work closely with the Lead Teacher to maintain a safe, structured, and nurturing learning environment for infants and young children.

What You'll Do
  • Ensure a safe and healthy environment for children by maintaining a clean and organized childcare space, including the classroom, kitchen, dining area, and bathroom.
  • Prepare and serve meals to children, following established meal plans and food safety guidelines.
  • Supervise children at all times, including during nap time and outdoor play, to ensure their safety and well-being.
  • Support, lead, or continue with lesson plans designed by the Lead Teacher to promote learning and development in infants and young children.
  • Assist with daily routines, such as diaper changing, bottle-feeding, and monitoring children's health and hygiene.
  • Maintain accurate records of children's daily activities, meals, and sleep patterns.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and guardians to ensure seamless transitions and provide regular updates on their child's progress.

Requirements

All candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • CPR and First Aid Training Certificate
  • Health Assessment Form (OCC 1204)
  • Background Check: This requires a fingerprint process. Please provide the following code to the biometric services office and specify that the check is for childcare services: Office of Childcare Code: 1100000053.
  • Release of Information Form (OCC1260): This document must be notarized.
  • SIDS and SUIDS Training Certificate
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds frequently throughout the day to assist with children and supplies

    The employer will provide comprehensive, hands-on paid training for four weeks at a rate of $16.00 per hour. The goal of this training is to help you become familiar with your responsibilities and the culture of Meli's Munchkins Bilingual Learning Center.
