Job description

Fitness Instructor/Specialist - PRN - Yoga
Shift: PRN - consistent instructor role, targeting 4-5 hours/week
Location: Everett, WA

Position Description: A Work-Fit Fitness Instructor/Specialist is responsible for supporting current Work-Fit program needs to exceed customer expectations by collaborating on the planning, organizing, communicating, developing, delivering, and measuring of Work-Fit services. A Fitness Instructor/Specialist will contribute to the advancement of Work-Fit’s quality and compliance to support service growth and excellence.

Health amp; Fitness Delivery
  • Group Fitness Instruction amp; Class Management
    • Lead engaging and inclusive group fitness classes across various formats (preferred formats include Cycle, Yoga, Core, Bootcamp, Zumba, Strength, Pilates, Stretching).
    • Prepare and deliver classes with attention to proper form, safety, and participant needs.
    • Offer progressions and regressions to accommodate varying fitness levels.
    • Ensure class logistics are managed effectively, including room scheduling and equipment setup.
    • Communicate class schedules, updates, and cancellations clearly and promptly.
    • Encourage and collect participant feedback to continuously improve class quality and experience.
  • Safety amp; Certification
    • Maintain current certifications relevant to group fitness instruction, personal training, and emergency response (e.g., AED/CPR/First Aid).
    • Monitor participant safety during classes and intervene when necessary.
    • Conduct regular checks of first-aid kits and AEDs to ensure readiness.
    • Participate in emergency preparedness drills and ensure emergency protocols are visible and accessible.
  • Facility amp; Equipment Oversight
    • Perform routine inspections of fitness equipment and ensure it is clean, safe, and functional.
    • Report maintenance needs and equipment replacements to the Client Program Manager.
    • Monitor facility conditions and proactively identify and mitigate safety hazards.
  • Engagement amp; Collaboration
    • Promote additional wellness services and programs available at the site.
    • Collaborate with onsite team members to enhance engagement and participation.
    • Support a positive and inclusive fitness culture that aligns with broader wellness initiatives.
General Work-Fit Position duties:
  1. Policy and Procedures
    • Maintains a safe, secure, and professional work environment by communicating and enforcing policies, procedures, and the expectations for the Work-Fit Employee Code of Conduct.
    • Ensures quality service by collaborating with site Leadership to understand, teach and enforce Work-Fit and Client organization Policy and Procedures.
    • Maintains and understands the Work-Fit and Client agreed upon Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) Manual(s) which defines delivery of service at the specified client site(s).
    • Collaborates to advance SOP practices for continued quality and professional practice compliance.
  2. Program Measurement
    • Ensure that all Work-Fit service interactions are documented in the Work-Fit and client (if applicable) record management database (s) in accordance with all Work-Fit record management policies and quality practices.
    • Conducts quality reviews of record management practices and implements action plans to ensure continuous quality improvement.
  3. Professional Development
    • Remains current with all policies, credentialing and laws governing professional practice.
    • Advances professional and technical knowledge by completing educational workshops, obtaining advanced certifications, completing virtual courses, reviewing professional publications, establishing strategic networks, collaborating with other professionals, and benchmarking state-of-the-art practices.
  4. Delivery of Work-Fit Services
    • Makes health personal through the delivery of the agreed upon Scope of Services to the customer in accordance with the SOP.
    • Assists in the establishment of Best Practice sharing and implementation practices throughout Work-Fit.
  5. Professional Development
    • Remains current with all policies, credentialing and laws governing professional practice.
    • Advances professional and technical knowledge by completing educational workshops, obtaining advanced certifications, completing virtual courses, reviewing professional publications, establishing strategic networks, collaborating with other professionals, and benchmarking state-of-the-art practices.
  6. Facility/Office Management
    • Ensures that the security of sensitive records (hard copy and computerized) is always maintained.
    • Maintains a work area that is neat, clean, and organized.
    • Maintains safe, clean, and neat areas for the delivery of Work-Fit services.
    • Maintains office equipment in safe working order.
Qualifications:
  1. Required: Certification in Group Fitness (preferred certifications include AFAA, ACE, NASM, ISSA, ACSM)
  2. Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in a Work-Fit/Customer specified health field such as Exercise Physiology, Fitness, or Health/Wellness, from an accredited college or university.
  3. Maintain CPR/AED certification.
  4. 3 years of professional experience in a specified health field
  5. Effective written (including proper grammar and spelling) and oral communication skills with individuals as well as group settings.
  6. Ability to manage time to ensure all duties and responsibilities are met on a daily and weekly basis.
  7. Ability to work without direct supervision.
  8. Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and ability to conduct on-line research.
  9. Proficient with use of electronic recordkeeping databases and client databases (as applicable to each Program).
  10. Comfortable in the delivery of service in various work environments such as manufacturing, warehousing, office, and outdoors.
  11. Maintain a consistent and flexible schedule to meet the needs of the Work-Fit Team and Work-Fit customers.
