Key Personnel is seeking a Medical Assistant to join a fast-paced OBGYN clinic in the Tulsa, OK area.
Medical Assistant Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Medical Assistant Pay: $19/hr DOE
Medical Assistant Summary
:

The Medical Assistant provides high-quality medical and clinical support to providers, functioning both independently and under minimal supervision. This role prioritizes exceptional patient care and ensures an efficient, compassionate clinical experience for all customers (patients).

Medical Assistant Responsibilities:

  • Triage patients promptly, accurately documenting vitals, medical history, and preparing patients for examinations.
  • Obtain patient signatures on ABNs when required.
  • Ensure all lab specimens are correctly labeled and corresponding requisitions are accurately completed.
  • Assist providers with exams and procedures, including preparation, in-room support, and post-procedure cleanup.
  • Generate accurate lab requisitions and include proper test and diagnosis codes per provider instructions.
  • Enter charges for UPT, urinalysis, and injections.
  • Administer various injections with proper consent and complete all documentation thoroughly.
  • Assist with phlebotomy when needed.
  • Maintain clean, organized exam rooms and equipment; change table paper after each patient visit.
  • Address non-acute clinical issues on a daily basis.
  • Support training for new employees.
  • Monitor and follow up on all lab results, ensuring timely review of outstanding labs over two weeks old.
  • Complete end-of-day cleaning, stocking, and record-keeping procedures.
  • Assist team members whenever needed, including after completing personal tasks.
  • Manage and assist with returning provider calls regarding lab results, prescription refills, and patient inquiries.
  • Consult with providers before offering medical advice unless previously approved in writing.
  • Thoroughly document all telephone encounters in the EMR.
  • Enter lab orders and results accurately and promptly.
  • Provide clear instructions to patients regarding lab and test result expectations.
  • Maintain electronic and physical records to ensure efficient retrieval of information.
  • Schedule and reschedule patient appointments as needed.
  • Follow all HIPAA, compliance, and Employee Handbook guidelines.
  • Prepare and dispose of biohazard materials in accordance with infection control policies.
  • Stock exam and procedure rooms daily per company guidelines.
  • Request necessary medical supplies and ensure all items are available to meet patient and provider needs.

Medical Assistant Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Completion of a Medical Assistant training program or a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
  • National Registration or Certification as a Medical Assistant required.
  • Prior experience working in OBGYN setting preferred.
  • Prior experience with eClinicalWorks EMR system preferred.
