Job Title: Laborer - Substation Civil Sitework Crew
Department: Operations

Position Summary
Cobalt Civil is seeking dependable and safety-focused Laborers to support substation civil sitework and foundation crews on utility and civil projects. This position assists with site preparation, material handling, equipment support, concrete work, and general labor duties in a fast-paced outdoor construction environment.
Key Responsibilities
  • Assist crews with civil sitework and substation construction activities
  • Perform general labor duties including digging, grading, cleanup, and material handling
  • Support concrete placement, conduit installation, grounding, and site preparation work
  • Load, unload, and organize tools, equipment, and construction materials
  • Operate hand and power tools safely and effectively
  • Maintain a clean and safe worksite in compliance with company and OSHA standards
  • Assist with equipment setup, mobilization, and daily maintenance
  • Work closely with supervisor and crew members to maintain efficient operations
  • Travel Monday through Friday to project sites as required

Qualifications
  • Construction or civil sitework experience preferred
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather and terrain conditions
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding work
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn
  • Valid driver's license preferred
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screening and background check

Preferred but Not Required Qualifications
  • Experience in utility, foundation, or substation construction
  • CDL or equipment operation experience a plus
  • OSHA 10 certification preferred

Work Environment
Outdoor construction environment with exposure to varying weather, uneven terrain, and heavy equipment. Overnight travel Monday through Friday, overtime, and occasional weekend work may be required based on project needs.
