THE ROLE
We're hiring a Sandblaster at our West Jordan, UT locations. You'll responsible for preparing surfaces of pipes by removing rust, old paint, and other contaminants to ensure a smooth and clean surface for coating applications, as part of our coatings team.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Remove rust, scale, old coatings, and other contaminants from pipe surfaces, ensuring a uniform texture that's ready for coating
  • Inspect pipe surfaces before and after sandblasting to confirm all contaminants are removed and the finish meets coating adhesion standards
  • Apply protective coverings to threaded ends and other areas that shouldn't be blasted
  • Operate sandblasting machines, compressors, and related equipment, adjusting settings based on pipe material and desired finish
  • Manage dust and debris control, including proper disposal of used abrasive materials and keeping the work area clean
  • Follow all safety protocols, including wearing required PPE and securing the work area from hazards like flying debris or dust inhalation
  • Perform routine equipment maintenance - cleaning, lubricating, and replacing worn parts as needed
  • Set up and prepare the blasting area, including arranging pipes and setting up scaffolding or supports
  • Keep accurate records of work completed, including pipe types blasted, duration, and any issues encountered

WHAT YOU NEED
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Basic computer literacy
  • Physical stamina and strong attention to detail
  • Solid understanding of safety protocols and PPE use
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment

COMPENSATION
The hourly pay range for this position is $19.00-22.00 per hour. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and geographic location. This role may also be eligible for shift differentials, overtime pay, and the full benefits package described above.
