Job description

Location: Leominster, MA
Shift: 7:00am - 3:30pm, Monday - Friday
Hourly Rate: $18.00 - $19.00 (based on experience)

POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking a Shipping & Receiving Associate who will be responsible for the production and/or packaging of manufactured products and serves as a support role for several areas of manufacturing, including but not limited to; powder coating, quality, etc. Assists in the receiving of materials and products to maintain integrity of inventory control. Ensure packing, shipping and delivery of products to the proper entity in a timely manner. Pull, load and restock products as needed.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Packing and Shipping

  • Examine contents and compare with records to verify accuracy of incoming and outgoing shipments
  • Perform final visual inspection, verification and count prior to freight departing
  • Document any shortages and correspond with appropriate personnel regarding such issues

  • Prepare new inventory worksheets, when applicable
  • Orchestrate daily shipping timetable to ensure all shipments are prepared in time for carriers while keeping supervisor abreast of any possible bottleneck or potential failure for the day
  • Prepare items to be shipped including picking, packing, staging, and labeling
  • Use hand truck and other plant equipment as needed to move or convey shipments to staging, storing or work areas

Inventory and Warehouse Organization

  • Maintain supply inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipate needed supplies
  • Perform cycle counts, restock shelving with products and maintain organization of inventory
  • Assist in maintaining the order, cleanliness and efficiency of the warehouse

Receiving

  • Assist in receiving items by unloading vehicles, accept deliveries and unpack containers
  • Verify items received by inspecting condition of items; compare count/measure of items to purchase order and packing list; note discrepancies

Damages

  • Receive, inspect and inventory returns and damages while communicating noticeable problematic patterns
  • Repair or re-box products as needed

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year related work experience
  • Knowledge of warehouse procedures; familiarity with freight industry
  • Knowledge of equipment safety standards
  • Possess organizational, problem solving and time management skills
  • Capability to work in a fast-paced environment with limited supervision

Physical Demands

  • Ability to stand, bend, lift in excess of 50 lbs. repeatedly each day
  • Ability to bend, stoop, squat, push, and pull parts and part containers
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time each day
