Job description

Electrical Engineer 

General Summary: The purpose of this position is to provide engineering support for the Maintenance Department.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical field.
  • Experience using Microsoft Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Auto Cad and Project.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 0-3 years of experience in maintenance or project engineering in an industrial manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Previous paper mill experience (such as at least one semester as a co-op)
  • Familiarity with instrumentation and control systems.
  • Process Control Certification

Knowledge-Skills-Abilities

  • Identifies and recommends solutions for correction of repetitive problems/failures.
  • Serves as relief supervisor/foreman for vacations and absences and as call duty supervisor.
  • Analyzes repair history and costs and makes recommendations for equipment repair or replacement.
  • Initiates repair work orders based on analysis of inspection records and reports.
  • Advises maintenance supervisors and planners on repair techniques and procedures.
  • Manages smaller capital installation and repair projects.
  • Assists mechanical maintenance superintendents in preparation of repair and capital budgets and annual outage plans.
  • Must be able to work well under pressure and within time constraints, multi-task, and build sound relationships with both internal and external customers.
  • Must exhibit excellent communication, analytical, organizational and computer skills.
  • Must be capable of independently making sound decisions through creative problem-solving.
  • Perform other tasks and duties as assigned.
