Job description

Microfabrication Industrial Engineering Co-Op
The Microelectronics Laboratory is seeking students eager to apply their engineering knowledge and skills together with analysis and design principles to improve operational efficiencies within the US Government's most capable wafer fabrication facility. Successful candidates will optimize the effectiveness of systems, processes, and operations within the Microelectronics Laboratory. Potential focus areas include: manufacturing execution system improvement, workflow analysis, metrics development, visual systems, information systems, and operations optimization. An undergraduate background in industrial engineering, systems engineering, operations research, manufacturing engineering, production engineering, management science, human factors engineering, logistics engineering, quality engineering, information technology, or computer science, and a willingness to work in a cleanroom are key requirements. Candidates must also have enthusiasm for solving problems, an interest in teaming, and US citizenship.
Compensation for 2025 (will be reviewed for 2027):
  • Technical Co-Op: $24.50 - $31.00 per hour (based on year in school)
  • Administrative Co-Op: $21.50 - $25.00 per hour (based on year in school)

Selected candidate will be subject to a pre-employment background investigation and must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret level DoD security clearance.
