Northrop Grumman is seeking a Co-Op, Chemistry to join the Space Systems Sector. This position will be located in Redondo Beach, California. The successful candidate should plan to work full time Spring and Summer semesters (January-August 2027), with flexible start and end dates.
This position would be with Western Region Production Engineering.
As a co-op, you'll participate in a co-op program to develop competencies in a variety of chemistry specializations that may include:
Roles and Responsibilities
Performs a variety of duties in the chemistry laboratories. Designs, executes, and reports on experiments to support internal and external customers with materials qualification, production troubleshooting, and failure analysis. Operates related equipment and interprets results for project stakeholders. Recommends next-steps and alternative testing for risk mitigation and remediation.
Basic Qualifications:
A candidate, regardless of age and hiring source, must meet ALL of the below criteria. The candidate must:
Be enrolled full-time and pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree from an accredited college/university AND graduating after August 2027
Be majoring in chemistry, chemical engineering, materials science, or related field
Be available to work full-time (40 hours per week) from January- August 2027
Be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite)
Preferred Qualifications:
Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.00/4.0 or higher
Intern and Co-op Pay Range:
Bachelor's: $26.75 to $32.50 per hour
Master's: $38.00 to $40.00 per hour
At Northrop Grumman, our internship and co-op pay rates are standardized and take into account three main factors: the anticipated graduation date of the individual, the cost of labor of the geographic location, and whether the internship is considered technical or administrative.
